No better way to enjoy the view over Plymouth Sound, even when the weather is not too good.Party of 8 people enjoyed good food, prompt service at a reasonable price considering the superb location.Best views can obviously be appreciated in daylight hours.

“Not as bad as reviews would suggest but a few howlers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

We were warned in advance about the dire service but we didn't have a problem - given that we were the only people in the place for most of the evening. Absolutely freezing cold - they had to bring the heater over to our table but I don't know what they would have done if the 4 other diners who came in after us wanted to take their fleeces off. Excellent bread and olives and good starters. We had steak for main course and the chips and salad which went with them were exemplary but oh dear, the steaks weren't great at all. The sticky toffee pudding was fab but the ice cream that came with was really properly horrid and grainy. The cheeses were very generous but 'local'? Wenslydale and Red Leicester featured and when we asked what the blue cheese was we were told it was 'Blue Cheese.' Quite a few things on the wine list weren't available. So all in all, its ok but if you are looking for somewhere nice to go in Plymouth then Tanners wins hands down.

“Just alright! ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

We decided to try this place after seeing a January special offer on the website. I had been put off by reviews so decided to give the place a chance. The place is very nice when you first walk into to a huge bar area. The staff were friendly and service quick. We were seated and ordered out food but it was nothing special. I ordered a soup which had consistency of being tinned. Main course was chicken but again nothing special, sauce tasted odd and the chicken/rice did not excite either. Dessert was ok although a little gritty for a pannacotta. I would return for a coffee and the view but probably not to eat! On the plus side it was not cold as they now have extra heaters dotted around!

“Excellent Rhodes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

My husband, son and I visited Rhodes@theDome for a celebration lunch on 2 Jan. Everything was really good - the welcome from Natasha, the service from Ellin and the food itself together with a fantastic view. We live near Plymouth and know the view well, but it was lovely to sit, protected from the weather and enjoy it. The food and cocktails (alcoholic and non) were all of a very high standard and I would happily recommend this restaurant. It is not overly pricey either.

“new years eve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

ignore the wingers who always put in bad reviews just for the sake of a small item.
This is one of the best restaurants I have been to. the food was tasty, hot and very well presented
the staff were amazingly attentive and could not do enough for you. Yes the music was loud but a live band is going to be loud wherever you go. Well done to all the staff I for one will recommend anyone to try your wares.
