“excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We booked a 1 night stay on a special offer deal & it was excellent value for the money.
Upon arrival you are greeted by the sight of an impressive looking country house with lots of nooks to explore.
The room was very modern & comfortable with an excellent shower. The a la carte restuarant served up an impressive 3 course dinner that wouldn't be out of place in a top London restuarant & the fact that it is situated on a balcony overlooking the great hall whilst you eat only added to the charm.
Overall this is a fantastic place to stay only a couple of miles from the centre of Plymouth

as soon as we arrived the hotel looked fantastic. we got to reception and checked in by a very pretty and obliging receptionist. our bags were tyaken to our rooms while we had a well deserved drink after a 400 mile trip. we got to our room to find in large, comfortable and spotless. we ate in the restaurant were the food and service were exceptional. the main reason we enjoyed our stay so much was the friendlyness and efficiency of the staff. we will certainly be staying at this wonderful hotel again.

Room Tip: we had a room in the court yard annexe and it was perfect.

Found this little gem on the internet. This hotel is truly amazing, its full of charm and character, lovely clean rooms, which are modern and stylish. And the staff are very friendly and helpful.

But the best part is definately the food. We stayed on the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package at £129. And were amazed at the quality of the food, I am truly surprised the chef has no michelin stars, no set menus here, or re-heating (you could pick anything from the A-la-carte menu, and all were freshly cooked for you.

I cannot wait to come back. (I have never said that before about a hotel)

We booked this for a Saturday night to visit a local restaurant. We were then able to stay an extra night on the Sunday, which is an absolute bargain at £75 to include 3 course a la carte dinner - beautiful food, absolutely gorgeous - and full English and/or Continental breakfast in the morning.
Best of all for £5 a night they will accept our dog.

Stayed dinner, bed and breakfast was excellent value. The staff where very helpful, food excellent and good rooms. Your also enough outside Plymouth to get excellent green views but close enough so it's only 10mins into town.

Would recommend.

We stayed here in Feb and enjoyed every minute. Loved the old building to bits - Elizabethan hall is stunning! Stone flag floors, wood panels, mullions etc BUT really comfortable well equipped rooms in converted barn block. Great breakfast and dinner! Only ask - could do with mini fridge in room. Will be back.

Really positive experience of an excellent hotel. Staff very motivated to provide a first rate service and very helpful. Food was to a very high standard and good value, good selection of wine at reasonable cost.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are good value
