“Pleasant and peaceful.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

Great place just to walk. De-stress after busy days or just to lighten up. One word of warning. E R suggests bags of crusts for ducks and swans but of course we should all know of the dangers of feeding wild or any birds with white processed bread.

“Pleasant waterside walks.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Came to lunch with friends nearby and walked it off around this interesting park we didn't know existed. Agree with the two previous reviews. With the fresh green leaves of the new season and a perfect high tide together with the sea birds and others on the lake this was an excellent place to wander. Not too busy on a Sunday either. Free.

“Radford Park.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

A green oasis in the the suburbs of Plymouth nestled and surrounded by Hooe, Oreston and Plymstock, The area is steeped in an interesting history worth the trouble to find out more. The lake is a haven for wildlife. The tidal estuary on occasions has hoasted seals, even on the hottest days there is a cool breeze. The resident ducks and swans always ready for a free bag of crusts.

“Gentle walks with trees and water.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

Not that well known unless you live close by, this area was formerly part of the park to rambling Tudor Radford House, for centuries home of the Harris family who had a series of historical connections including some big Elizabethan names. Demolished just before WWII the remains of the park are now council owned and open to the public. In the early seventies a swathe of the northern parkland was set out as an arboretum. There are also good walks beside a largish enclosed area of fresh water beside the tidal inlet off the Plymouth estuary. All round not a bad place to walk.
