“Nice staff and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Not far from the action, but far away enough that its not loud. Parking was easy and the staff are so polite and friendly which is nice. The room was nice enough id say more 3 or 4 star myself. but was clean and had everything we needed. could have done with a fridge and bigger towels.
Breakfast was yummy and nothing was too much trouble. The hogs pudding is deffo something you MUST have. Would stay again. Gay friendly too sometimes we get looks and people are a little weird but here was fine no prob at all.

Full of friendly staff, but having just stayed in a superb (and much cheaper) B&B, the single room I stayed in was a disappointment to me.

The shower cubicle was way too small, with a curtain that would stick to you when you moved, and the shower itself was totally lacking in water pressure. The TV was at right angles to the bed, and on the other side of the room, which was uncomfortable for viewing. The bed was comfortable enough, but the feather duvet was a bit lumpy. There was a light in the corridor outside my room that stayed on all night and streamed under the bottom and the side of the door, which was very bright and kept me awake. Maybe the other rooms are better - the other recent reviews seem to indicate that I just lucked out on this occasion?

Apart from that, breakfast was good, location was convenient for the Barbican and the Hoe and not too far from the city centre either. There was also free parking.

Fantastic room in great location for The Hoe and City centre. Hotel is very friendly and well run. The room (single) was very comfortable with modern en-suite a TV and plenty of power sockets. The breakfast was great, cleanliness worthy of its top rating. If I were visiting Plymouth on business or for pleasure I would stay here. Exceptional value!

I stayed with three friends at this establishment at the close of our Coast-to-Coast cycle adventure and it was far and away the best hotel that we stayed at during our time in Devon.

We received a very friendly welcome on arrival and were provided with somewhere to keep our bikes safe. Our rooms were excellent, lovely and clean and nicely equipped. The bathrooms were really excellent.

Breakfast was also tip-top and was served in pleasant surroundings by an enthusiastic staff.

This little hotel even has a nice bar and lounge area.

The place is conveniently located and bearing in mind the prices we honestly could not find a single thing to fault!

We have just returned from a fantastic stay in this hotel. We stayed in a family suite with two bedrooms which was brilliant. We checked in two hours early and staff were absolutely fine with this. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The whole hotel was clean, breakfasts were good with a large choice of food and parking was free. We will certainly go back if we visit Plymouth again.

I chose this by reading all the reviews here and I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and interested from the moment we arrived. My sister and I had two good sized single rooms on the ground floor, both well equipped and quiet. It is a five minute walk to the Hoe and the rest of the city is within easy walking distance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It deserves the 5* B and B rating that it has.

Have just returned from a few days at this excellent hotel, I have stayed at this hotel over a good few years & several changes of owners/management & the current owners & management are the best by far.

The service is second to none & the staff are only too willing to go the extra mile to make your stay an enjoyable one, this establishment really understands the meaning of customer care & personal attention to detail.

Don't be put off because it's on a bed & breakfast basis, there are many fine hostelries very local to obtain lunch & dinner, I used the Hoo club for lunch & the Yard Arm for dinner both only a few minute,s walk away.

This hotel is very convenient for Plymouth town centre/Barbican/Hoo, & with free 24/7 on site parking in my opinion can't be bettered.
