From the moment we walked through the doors right up until when we left, the pace, quality and sincerity of the service couldn't be faulted. Staff were eager to please and fast but without being intrusively attentive and without creating a sense of being rushed.
I'm no expert on Indian food but I certainly couldn't fault the quality or quantity of what was served. The menu seemed comprehensive to me although my brother, a regular at Peterborough's Taj Mahal restaurant said it was a little less extensive than theirs.
On ambience, it is a small, fairly intimate restaurant although seating is comfortable and lighting & soft furnishings added to a warm, cosey feel. There is a medium-sized flat-panel TV screen on the wall and volume was turned to a low-moderate level. This actually contributed positively to the ambience as it was showing Bollywood films/trailors.
On pricing, this restaurant is probably average but considering the quality of service and food, it's really very good indeed.
I have seldom been disappointed by any Indian restaurant but I am still always delighted by good service and appalled by complacent service. I make no apologies for not finding any negatives at the Eastern Eye; I whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant.
