“recommended to me, recommended to you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Directed to this restaurant after enquiring at a local hotel. I had spotted it previously but had not ventured in. I am glad i did recently, the menu was different to other traditional Indians. I had the spicy chicken starters which was HOT and delicious. This was followed by a Lamb curry dish which was very fresh and spicy, not too hot this time. Washed down with Cobra, but i saw Bangla and Kingfisher as well; it was a very nice meal. The prices were a little high but the restaurant is near a tourist area (the Barbican) and should be expected and also it was worth it. Will be visting again soon.

Came here again last Friday and ordered the usual. Fully enjoyed it.
I was even given a free coffee and onion bhaji.

Thanks again, I will be back

“Photo is wrong. Someone is having a larf.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Several incorrect photos have started appearing for Tripadvisor Plymouth listings. This Jan 13 picture of a grand formal dining room is not the Eastern Eye or anywhere else in Plymouth UK. The eastern Eye has a ground floor narrow room with some cramped booths and upstairs is a medium sized room with some bizarre neon style overkill kitsch lighting. Neither room is remotely like the image currently posted.

“Contempory Bangladeshi Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

Not always easy to find somewhere to eat in the area... However walking down the street this establishment stood out from the crowd..
So much so that I went in without a second thought, I sat in the downstairs of a two floor restaurant, although clearly Indian the restaurant is contempory and lit in a funky way, nice seating. The toilets are spotless and newly tiled.

The food was excellent, one off the best Dhansaks I've eaten, accompanied by Aloo Bhajee which was off menu... Great potato dish if you like heat...

The food is served unusually in glassware.

All in in I can not fault this place, great restaurant, excellent food and very polite staff.

The owner is also a very attentive guy..

Try it you won't be dissapointed.

“Just brilliant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

As food lovers we are choosy about our curries and hate poor experiences where everything tastes the same and meat is dry.

Here our food was beautifully cooked, unusual in flavour and made using quality ingredients.

Wide choice on the menu and outstanding service!

We shall return, more of the same please!!
