“peaceful, scenic retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This is a beautiful, peaceful hotel, within easy reach of scenic short walks, little shops and a good art/craft centre for gifts. Our room was extremely comfortable, with a balcony and sea view; there was oodles of hot water for baths/showers. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant and the bar was great. The staff were all polite, helpful and capable. No complaints! A definite recommendation for anyone wanting to get away ...

This traditional hotel is perched on the clifftop in Lynton. The sea views are wonderful and as described. We stayed one night in the C.S. Lewis suite. This had a sitting room with two armchairs facing the view of the Bristol Channel - beautiful and peaceful! The bedroom area was of a good size and the large, comfortable bed faced the sea view. The bathroom was spacious and there was a bath and separate shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. The wi-fi was good. The owner and staff were helpful, efficient and cheerful. The breakfast/dining room also had sea views. The included breakfast menu had a varied choice. We opted for the 'Full English' which was cooked to order and excellent. A real bonus was a top up for the coffee pot! Dinner choices had to be made by 5pm, a common practice in the south-west I am told, and we had a pleasant meal. The service was excellent. There is a car park in the hotel grounds. We would certainly stay again.

What a wonderful hotel perched above Lynmouth and overlooking the bay and Wales. Our four poster bed and lounge was lovely. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Lovely views from restaurant too. We will definitely return.

We stayed here for a long weekend, the place is nothing short of excellent, the room, food, staff, parking, spectacular views and the cleanliness of the whole place is to be applauded.would like a draft beer in the bar along with cocktails and red vermouth for the wife but that's nit picking. Well done to all

We spent a 4 day break at this hotel with a group of friends in late April. What a fantastic location in Lynton perched high up on the cliff overlooking Lynmouth and with extensive views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales.
The hotel was superb - nothing was too much trouble - really friendly and efficient staff - excellent food at breakfast and at dinner each night - the view from the restaurant is one to die for. The owners have spent a lot of time, money and thought into upgrading the hotel since they took over 2 years ago
The hotel also has ample car parking spaces on site
We were so-oo-oo lucky with the weather during our stay -
Would thouroughly recommend a stay at this lovely location

Room Tip: ask for a room with a sea view

Good sized, comfortable rooms, interesting decor. Worth trying the evening meals, several good local options. Obliging host and very pleasant staff. Views great and well placed for both Lynton and Lynmouth. Bill & Cita have worked hard to turn the hotel around.
