“Classy B&B with wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

My Mum and I stayed here in September 2012 and I've just got around to becoming a TripAdvisor contributor [apologies Sue and Andy :-) ]. The house, the rooms and the breakfasts were the best I've ever had in a B&B. Sue and Andy were fantastic. They couldn't be more helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. I can't recommend this B&B highly enough. The town and the area are beautiful and I wish I'd had more time to explore. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

If you're reading this and in a quandry over what B&B to stay in, I'd say take note of all the rave reviews that Southcliffe have got and book immediately!

Excellent B+B Everything provided wonderful hospitality Spotless bedrooms and public rooms.Very varied breakfast to chose from. Sue + Andy are the sort of hosts you only get once in a while. If you are looking for a special meal the nearby Greenhouse is recommended.

This is a really wonderful place to stay, in a beautiful part of the country. The rooms are spotless, well-equipped and a good size. The hosts (Sue and Andy) made us feel really welcome, and they were exceptionally helpful and considerate throughout our stay. We enjoyed the wide range of breakfast choices, as well as an evening meal on our first night. (There's also a good choice of places to eat out in Lynton and Lynmouth - we particularly liked the tapas at the Oak Room, just down the road.) We'd definitely want to stay here if we were in this area again.

My wife and I are regular visitors to North Devon and Lynton/Lynmouth in particular. We have stayed in some extremely good guest-houses over the last 10 years and, after our first visit to Southcliffe this week, we can say that it is right up there with the very best. The location, the layout, the decor, the comfort, the cleanliness, the food and especially the welcoming and attentive hosts (Sue and Andy) all ensure that Southcliffe is a top class holiday destination and one that we certainly intend returning to.

A beautifully kept B&B run by lovely, welcoming and friendly people. The attention to detail was so much appreciated from the decanter of sherry in the guest lounge, to the little chocolates on our pillows each day, to the Easter card and chocolate egg that appeared in our room on Easter Sunday. The choice of breakfasts is astonishing with plenty of freshly cooked produce and an abundance of fresh fruits - delicious. Sue's homemade granola is especially good. We had dinner on two nights of our stay which was again, delicious and cooked to order. Both Andy and Sue spent time chatting with us and offering friendly recommendations on how we might best use our time in the area. Our room was beautifully decorated with excellent facilities and the standard of cleanliness everywhere in the B&B was superb. I can't praise Southcliffe enough!

My wife & I plus another couple stayed Friday & Saturday night. Sue & Andy couldn't have been more welcoming. The rooms were spotless & the breakfasts spot on. Lynton was quiet this time of year (just how we like it) but Sue & Andy were helpful in their recommendations & I can return the compliment by recommending their B&B._

A truly beautiful B&B in a fantastic location with lovely owners. My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights back in July and we had such a relaxing time, just wish we could have stayed longer! The breakfast is absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend the sweet fruit waffles to start the day! Sue and Andy were so friendly and they were very helpful with advice on where to visit/eat out. Many thanks for a wonderful weekend away!
