“Quaint tea cottage garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

The location is lovely, in a beautiful English cottage garden with tea served in real bone china cups.
Friendly service, but quite busy and the staff were working very hard to make orders fresh as they were taken.
Overall a very lovely place in a very lovely setting.
P.s delightful cream teas!

“What a surprising find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Found this place by accident after a greelaning in the area. Lovely place with beautiful gardens and vistas. The tea was great, with extra water, and the cake was divine. Service was excellent but can't comment on the speed as it was us and one other group in the rain. Its run by volunteers from Lee Abbey so they could get overwhelmed in busy times. But, enjoy the atmosphere, relax and chill out. If you want speed go to Costa's or Greggs

“Beautiful and welcome - and worth a special trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

The Tea Cottage is perfectly placed opposite the car park for Lee Bay. It is easy to find and worth a special trip. The food is good - homemade and pleasantly served. Another reviewer has written about poor service. It is true that our food arrived at different times, but it was not a problem. Relax and enjoy the garden, and just sitting and resting! Good also for drinks and ice creams for the nearby beach.

“Outdoor heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

Having gone for a weekend in Exmoor in one of the wettest journeys we've ever made (And the return journey was definately worse) the visit to the tea cottage was a welcome rest. Many visitors including German tourists- this part of north Devon has been attracting them for years- were enjoying the peace of the delightful gardens with spectacular views and atmosphere. My wife enjoyed a huge bowl of home made soup while Guiness took me on an extended tour of the Lee abbey estate; my reward was a great portion of home baked Walnut cake and the remainder of my wife's soup as the large portion had beaten her. Great friendly service under manager Pixie's careful supervision- surely worth a detour if in the vicinity.
