“Very very warm and hospitable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2011

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at East Lyn and I must say we had a very nice time indeed. Barbara and Paul are the best hosts one could ask for - they are warm, great to chat with and nothing is too much trouble. I was wondering why East Lyn had so many positive reviews on Tripadvisor and the reason was clear after 5 mins with them. Needless to add, the rooms are quite nice indeed. Reasonably sized and neatly furnished.

We really enjoyed staying here. Paul and Barbara were the perfect hosts, with their good humour and kindness making it a memorable and restful holiday. Not having to get in the car for a few days is a real treat - there's dramatic scenery and beautiful walks through the woods and up onto the moor and pubs and restaurants all a gentle stroll away.

We were welcomed with open arms and the chance of a much needed drink after our journey. Our hosts Barbara and Paul, were lovely and very knowledgeable about the area and gave us plenty of advice about the best places to walk and visit.

The room was comfortable, breakfast was hearty (I am a greedy person and even I couldnt quite finish it all!) and our hosts were kind enough to allow us a little lie in too!

Love Lynmouth.
The hotel is in an excellent location and Paul and Barbara were very welcoming. We had room 5 which was very comfortable and had a wonderful view of the river. We loved listening to the river especially at night lulling us to sleep. Lovely walks from the hotel too.
Thank you for a lovely short break.

We have just returned from a 3 night break at the East Lynn. We were made extremely welcome by Barbara and Paul. Breakfast was delicious and we also ate twice their in the evening and can recommend the sea bass, lamb shank and the steak. All were cooked to perfection. We had a room on the top floor with a double aspect stunning view of the river. Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated. On Pauls advice we did the Valley of the Rocks walk, a hair raising experience but one not to be missed. We would also recommend the open top bus trip to Minehead/Porlock. The restaurant just metres down the road called Le Bistro was also brilliant and would hightly recommend. We would like to thank Barbara and Paul for their warm welcome which turned our break into a truly relaxing and refreshing short holiday.

We stayed for one night on 10/10/10 and was met outside by our hosts and had a most enjoyable stay for the short time we was there. We would highly recomend staying at East Lyn house for so many reasons. The location is just perfect and wonderful views , the rooms are bright and clean , and Barbara and paul are the perfect hosts , always ready to help out and always smiling . We had such a nice evening spent at the bar with Barbara and Paul and some other guests. Thank you so much for making our stay very special in more ways than one. Your words of wisdom and advice have helped us decide where our future lies and we hope to become regualr visiters when we down in devon and also hope we have made two wonderful friends. What a lovely hotel - fantastic position a minute's walk from Lynmouth village and overlooking the river - beautful views - comfortable, clean beds and lovely rooms and a cozy, appealing bar. Our hosts Paul and Barbara were so friendly and helpful and really made us feel at home. One of the most relaxing places we've ever stayed. Breakfasts are superb, as are the evening meals. This was our first visit to Lynmouth and we loved it - plenty of charming character, bars and decent places to eat in the village, as well as spectacular views all around. Will definitely stay at the East Lyn again - we were sad to leave!
