“Nice quirky surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

If you fancy something a bit different in quirky surroundings The Hourglass is the place to go. Also quite reasonably priced.

“Best pub in Exeter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Fantastic, atmospheric pub, with a really welcoming, quirky interior, great friendly staff and food I can't fault every time I dine here. Sunday lunches are fabulous, a good place to relax and the bloody marys cure the hangover from the night before!

“Great pub and restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Booked this for Friday night supper on recommendation - we were visiting Exeter for the weekend.
The pub is super, quirky and rambling with a trendy crowd all having a great time. The restaurant is downstairs in the old and architecturally interesting building. We chose from the recently updated menu (we were told) with some eclectic combination on offer. Both fish dishes were very good - hubby had mackerel with chick peas and gazpacho, my cod was super. Great bottle of rose to go with it and super service.

“Great Spanish influenced gastropub food, friendly service and somewhat Bohemian clientele!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

The food, staff and cellar surroundings are all excellent, you can't really fault it. However, the place is patronised by Exeter's artistic types in general, which isn't a problem, but you might end up guffawing aloud during your meal when you catch snippets of some of the avant-garde conversations going on around you! Beats Elvis night at the local curry house for sheer entertainment value though.

The Sunday Roasters.

“Gem of a pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Small, cosy and great. Good selection of wine and food. Tucked away location but close to town and quay. Worth finding
