“What a breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

I stayed at the town house for just one night while collecting my son from university.
my room was a single at the top of the house with its own bathroom across the hall (not a problem at all). Everything was spotless modern and very comfortable, I especially appreciated the complimentary cafetierre coffee in the room..Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff and I can honestly say the breakfast was nearly worth the room fee alone. Many thanks I would certainly stay again.

Clean rooms and good location (only a five minute walk from the city centre). Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure guests had a good stay (thank you for lending Monopoly for the rainy afternoon!). Would stay again if in Exeter.

We stayed there for a weekend when visiting family in Exeter. It was a great place to stay - very welcoming staff, clean, warm and quiet. Our room was spacious, bright and had a great fair-trade tea/coffee facilities, complimentary biscuits, free wi-fi and toiletries. Although bathroom wasn't huge, it was nicely done with a good pressure shower and plenty of hot water. We also got free parking permits on arrival, which was great and we could park just outside the house. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and hearty! It was nearly worth the room fee alone - fresh berries, yogurts, croissants, home-made jam and marmalade as well as cooked breakfast (organic free range eggs from owner's chickens). Forget the big hotels, this small friendly small B&B has ticked all the boxes for our stay! Will definitely return. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Room Tip: We stayed in Darcy!

Fantastic value rooms, very spacious with high ceilings, light and airy yet warm and welcoming. This place has great character and offers a warm and friendly welcoming. The location is great and the parking permit is an excellent bonus.
We used this as a stop over en route to Cornwall with my mum and 2 small boys - we all slept well and a had a good breakfast to send us on our way. Mum and I were able to walk to a great restaurant in the cathedral area.
Highly recommend

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms do get some noise from front door use but most guests were very considerate.

As we were in Exeter to meet the family living on Alphington Road, it was a nice place to stay in. Parking facilities (parking permit), not far from the city centre . We loved the very warm welcome, the very nice breakfast and the helpfull staff. Room very clean
Many places to have lunch or dinner within 5 min walk.
This B&B is a place I recommend and will stay in next ime we come to Exeter.

Room Tip: rather difficult because our room was on the front side (roadside) but heard no traffic noise

We visited Exeter recently, and enjoyed our stay in this B&B. A lovely old building with all the modern amenities we required. Warm, comfortable, clean and tidy. Nice breakfast too.

It was convenient for the City which we explored and were amazed by. We have been to many larger cities which don't compare for shopping. Exeter has a huge array of major, and not so major, retailers. It has a lot of upmarket shops and eateries you don't see in every city. Looking around, that is understandable. This is clearly a 'posh' city with great architecture and clean streets and precincts. Its population is obviously wealthier than average, and it looks a great place to live. Lovely, underrated cathedral in a nice, green inner city space.

Will visit again for sure - and stay at the same B&B.

I have stayed with a friend in this B&B each year for about the last 5 years when we have visited Exeter for a pre-Xmas shopping trip. The rooms are always really clean and the service is good. The location is good for a 10 min walk into Exeter town centre and the staff let you have a parking permit for the duration of your stay which is handy.

The breakfast is freshly cooked and whilst it did take about 10 mins to wait for someone to check us out, to be fair, this was during a very busy breakfast service.

Definitely recommend this B&B.
