“Much more than a farm shop.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Darts Farm is special. It's family run and personally we have seen it grow to one of the country's best farm shops. From small beginnings the Dart brothers have created a shopping venue that is special. From the delicatessen to the butchers, and then the florists.
Is that it? No, it's not. There is a cider press, tastings available. You want wine... It's available, it's local and you can get advice. It gets better. FISH. WOW! Real fish that they source themselves. The Fish Shed is perfection. The fish and chips must surely be the best in DEVON and CORNWALL. Scale of one to ten, forget the man in Padstow. There isn't any contest.
You don't want fish, Darts have a restaurant. It's really good. Want an Aga, they specialise. Paints and porcelain, they have Fired Earth. Maybe you want some furniture or glass, the Orange Tree is there to delight. Soaps, handbags, luggage. Lovely. Need your hair attended to. Energy Hair is the place to go. Nathan had been tending my locks for quite a few years. he's magic. There is even a beauty salon. What are you waiting for... Oh, did I forget to say? Parking? Not a problem. Plenty for all and if you have a disability Darts Farm will look after you. Parking and lifts and toilets available. Just go and enjoy.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

This is an up market shopping experience for food and goodies but be warned that the standard of the goods and produce on sale is reflected in the prices charged. Nevertheless, from pies to AGA cookers passing butchers and candles on the way, you can spend an hour here whether its in the upmarket outdoor wear store or in the cake section. And to round it off, visit the cafe/restaurant. Food is good value and expertly served by friendly and efficient staff.

“Great food .. tho stiff prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

This is a definite up market shopping experience, with knowledgeable and well mannered staff working on butchery, fish and deli counters. There are also general groceries and a wines and spirits section. Everyone seems really pleasant and well trained. As well as the foodie departments, there is also a lovely toy shop, a wide range of gift ware plus some very aspirational franchises .. Fired Earth, Aga and an outdoor goods and even a RSPB shop in house. It is definitely an establishment that knows its demographic. After mooching round the various departments we had lunch taking advantage of the Fish Shed. I went for traditional haddock & chips; my daughter opted for Thai style fish cakes. They do offer a very wide variety of fish to accompany your chips! The food has to be ordered outside ... you then go indoors to try to find a table and also to pay for your meal at one of the tills. The fish was obviously freshly cooked to order ... it took a full 30 minutes to arrive. The seating was cramped and uncomfortable. (True, there are lots of wooden benches outside by the Fish Shed but this wasn't an option on a wet December day!) The fish was really good quality, and well cooked. The chips were well cooked but oddly dry. However, I don't think I would bother again unless the weather was conducive to sitting outside - there are lots of good fish & chip shops and restaurants in the area. I can see why this is known locally as a place for "Ladies Who Lunch", but these are ladies with a lot of disposable income!

“Great service - excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This is a great place if you are interested in quality food to cook or to stay and eat in their restaurant. Also good for gifts, cookware, bathrooms, out door clothes and toys with a difference. The place was full of people only a week before Christmas but nothing was compromised. We ate in the restaurant and the service was excellent, staff attitude was very helpful and positive, food was particularly good with great portion sizes. Dart's Farm is a 80 miles from our home but this has never got in the way of our visits several times a year! Just a few miles off the M5 makes it a good place to stop if on a journey - highly recommended.
