I booked Clip n Climb for my son and 5 friends for his 7th birthday. I took advantage of the special party package of £12.50 per child. This included climbing, a leap of faith for all children, and food. This was great value as last time I looked it was about £17 each.
My one complaint was that when booking a £25 charge was added on for use of the party room which I felt was a bit sneaky as if you book a party package I would expect the room fee to already be included. I couldn't back out though as I'd already promised the birthday boy.
On arrival we were all sent to the instruction room to get the kids equipped and tell the how to stay safe. The adults were shown how to clip the climbers on and off safely ( I found it a bit tricky to start but soon got the hang of it.)
I would recommend taking some adults along as clippers so the kids don't have to keep waiting for an instructor to come along and do it.
The climbing area itself is fantastic, there is a large choice of climbing walls for the kids to try. Inflatable walls, spinning disc walls and any more. The kids are safe at all times as they cant unclip or clip on without an adult helping them.
The Leap of Faith involved the child climbing up very high and then launching themselves off towards either what appears to be a large punch bag or a handle. The instructors are really supportive and encouraging and help the children especially when they get a bit scared and the knees start knocking!
After an hours climbing we were told to go to the party room, which I found a little disappointing as there wasn't any decoration or banners even though I had asked if I needed to supply any. There was also a cupboard door hanging off it's hinges and no rubbish bin supplied. (And a naked man in the flat opposite but thats a different story!!!)
There was enough food supplied sandwiches, sausage rolls and crisps with ice cream for dessert, but I would ask them to look at the sandwich fillings. We had cheese and pesto which was surprisingly tasty but couldn't persuade 7 year old boys to try them!!
In summary it was a great party and the Birthday Boy was over the moon, but there are just a couple of things in terms of making the parties a little more special for the child.
If we have to pay an extra £25 for the use of the room could it not be decorated, possibly supply some music playing facilities, make sure doors aren't falling off, and maybe checking the choice of sandwich fillings are suitable for fussy 7 year old boys!
We'll definatly be coming again though, the kids all loved it.

Many thanks for your review both positive and constructive points. It is feedback like this that enables us to improve our service. Clip n Climb is a separate business to the Quay Climbing centre and has to hire the room for parties, part of this charge is passed on. Bunting is also put up in the party room but we will look into 'Happy Birthday' banners. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
