Went away for a 2 night quiet weekend stay in Exeter just after Valentines Day and stayed at ABode. The hotel itself has a nice decor with friendly staff. The first night was spent in room 101. The room itself was nice enough, although smelt a little musty on arrival. There was a function downstairs until around 1130pm which didn't bother us too much but throughout the night there was a noisy air conditioner or fan extractor unit outside that kept starting up and whirring away throughout the night. The secondary glazing wasn't successful at keep this noise at bay unfortunately.
There was also a dripping noise (that I couldn't locate, and probably explains the musty smell) which made for a fairly sleepless night. We asked at reception to be relocated and they obliged. We were offered two other rooms, the first of which also seemed to have an air extraction thing outside as well, so we picked the other overlooking a pub in an alley way next to the hotel. This room was quieter than both the others and we got a better night sleep here!
Generally the hotel is nice, and the rooms are well decorated and comfortable with good bathrooms+showers, although a little on the small side (a victim of being an old hotel I think)
