Having been to North Devon many times we have seen the leaflets for The Milky Way but never went until today.
The skies opened early and it was bucketing it down and we knew it wouldn't ease so thought The Milky Way it is.
The venue has lots of parking and is easy to find. It's signed posted well off the A39. The entrance fee is more than some other local attractions however once you're in you'll not find yourself delving into your pockets for endless amounts of change. Under 3's are free, otherwise it's £12.50 each. About 90% of the offering is indoors.
They have a small museum, a roller coaster, a large soft play area which adults can play too, a smaller soft play area for under 5's, an indoor arena where they hold the shows such as "Merlins Got Talent" which is exciting to watch especially with kids, dodgems (with little ones time slots to avoid taking your kid on there and finding yourself faced with a jumped up 10 year old gladiator wanting your blood), a sports area where they have archery and some tiny golf cages as well as two cafe's a picnic area and also somewhere to purchase and paint pottery items. Outdoors there is a zip wire, a small golf course and a birds of prey section with real birds which they fly daily as well as do a show. A review further down mentions the "Bird Man" as being egotistic, he is far from it but rather extremely passionate about what he does and his birds and he is very knowledgeable. He is also a skilled artist and has some amazing paintings for sale in his hut.
The staff are helpful and won't run past you without telling you about the event their running to. You can never miss a show at this attraction unless its intentional.
To sum it up, probably the best venue in North Devon if it's raining. If the weather is sunny then it's just not quite on par with some of the other attractions but then again we all want to enjoy the sun when it's out!
