“Lovely bolt hole”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Hidden in a small village (Lindale) is a veritable retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Every need is catered for with a kitchen and cosy lounge easily warmed by a lovely wood burner. For those needing more modern comforts is a very efficient central heating system. There is a good sized double bed room and a very comfortable bed. It is very well placed for a great range of walks and for those who enjoy eating out there are two pubs in walking distance with a whole range of eateries that are easily accessible by car or bike. Would definitely recommend for those needing some calm, beauty and uncomplicated living.

“Perfect little hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights at the end of November. The cottage is adorable, cosy and comfy. We especially enjoyed the log fire and the huge squashy bed! The village is cute with two pubs. We sampled both, naturally, and enjoyed the gastro style food at the Royal Oak and a quiet drink in the Lindale Inn. The village shop is well stocked and there is a Coop and a Spar in Grange which is about a mile away. Some lovely walks and views nearby. We travelled around the Lakes while we we're there and would recommend the South Lakes Animal Park which is about 15/20 minutes drive from Lindale. Really enjoyable day out (and free at the moment!) for all ages.
Thank you for a great weekend. We'll be back again!

“Between the Bay and the Lakes - best of both worlds”

A delightful cottage for two, cosy and well equipped. We enjoyed the comfy sofa, the wood burning stove; the 'upper garden'. Perfect location for a holiday in the south-eastern Lake District; Lake Windermere is 15 min drive. But walking in the area is also a must; up to Hampsfell and further towards Cartmel.

“Outstanding Cottage in the Lake District”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This was my first time to the Lake District and in this respect I could not have picked a better place to stay - Rosebank Cottage was perfect. This small cottage located in the small village of Lindale is ideally located if you want to travel around the Lake District. The cottage is charming, comfortable and cosy, I fell in love with it the moment I walked in. It has all you need for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in the area,

June, the owner, is great. Communication from the onset was easy and you do get value for money. All I can say is a big thank you.

“exceptional cottage and surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Cottage was very clean and well presented. Ideal for a break in the south lakes area. Situated in the small village of Lindale close to Grange over Sands. Very quite and pretty village. Good local pub serving great food. Cottage has modern well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge and comfortable ben and large bathroom/shower. Would recommend to friends and family. Very steep back garden need to be fit and able bodied to reach the sitting area.

“Cosy cottage in quiet hamlet in South Lakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Lovely cosy cottage - perfect for couples gettaway. Loved the wood fired stove and rustic feel of the place. Small village shop two minutes walk away. Two pubs in village, one a bit "earthy" and the other a gastropub with interesting (but very good) menu.

Take a torch if arriving after dark. Shop shuts in early evening so bring food with you if arriving late and staying in. Cartmel well worth a visit especially if you're into all things sticky toffee.

Management Response
Mar 14, 2013
So glad you liked the cottage and the village.

Just to say that food shops are open late in nearby Grange over Sands when the village shop is closed.

“fantastic clean cottage in a lovely, friendly village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

great communication with owner.lovely clean cottage, everything you need is there. regular buses to grange and kendal and further afield, only £25.00 for a week mega gold bus ticket that you can go anywhere in cumbria with, no need for a car. lindale arms pub is great and only 2 mins walk away. small shop in village sells everything you need and only 1 minute from cottage. fantastic butchers and bakers in grange over sands. lots of lovely walks on doorstep. when the evenings draw in you would be best carrying a torch with you as there are not many street lights and some roads unlit.
