“The crystal cave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Turns out it's quartz! What a magical place. You have to go at low tide in order to make the trek down to the entrance to Merlin's Cave. You can wake right through from the entrance to the other side if the tide is low enough. Careful don't get stuck with the tide coming in. Visually a feast for the eyes and for the spirit!

“Yes it's a cave...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

Had to write a quick review here, been to Tintagel lots of times and it's a lovely walk down to the cafe at the bottom. No getting the land rover back up! Walk off the cake.... Now, people have left reviews as poor & average about the cave saying its only a cave! Yes it is only a cave but it's merlins cave...... Go when the tide is out and wander right through. Better when the tide is in and sea is rough so you can imagine the dragons fiery breath...

“Pop in after you've been to the Castle above”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

The children loved discovering this cave after we'd been to Tintagel Castle. Accessible only at low tide, it's a scramble over large and small rocks, then a WET section - expect to wade, or stop before you get all the way through.

There are other caves on the opposite side of the cove too, just as worthy of exploration.

“Myths of Merlin”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

Nothing special, but then again neither is the Castle, lots of tourists, especially foreigners are disappointed, they expect a proper castle.

“Cave on the beach.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

There is always a strange eerie feeling on the beach near this cave. It's a wonderful place to visit, and well worth the climb down to the beach.
