“AN AMAZING CASTLE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

A strong sturdy pair of walking boots is advised, and plenty of stamina. Quite a long walk from the car park which does have a café, to the castle itself. Beautiful and atmospheric with views of the sea. There are quite a number of rare birds. It is well worth walking down to the beach and see Merlins Cave, especially if the sea is in. Try and see if you are brave enough to walk through if the sea is out. There is also a small waterfall on the opposite rocks. I loved Tintagel and would visit again at any time. I did not like the small town, mainly because it felt like Merlin was on sale in every shop.

“Legendary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

I haven't been back to Tintagel Castle for over 15 years but it doesn't disappoint. Although we are a family of four we had to leave our 3 year old in the cafe (with my wife of course) as she couldn't have managed the walk up to the castle.

Fantastic views and atmosphere.

“Fascinating castle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

There was far more to the historic site than we had expected. The remains of a total community in a spectacular setting.

“Go down and see Merlins cave”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Arthur's Birthplace and a very defensible series of ruins.
3 Different ages of Fortifications have been here at various stages of history.
Go down to the beach in the little bay and see Merlins cave.
There are quite a few steep steps, so not for the mobility impared. Very strong on shore winds and totally exposed to the elements so bring a jacket.
