“Amazing views. Reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

This is a really nice day out in a stunning location. It is a nice walk down to the castle and to the beach where Merlin’s Cave is and there is a waterfall down to the beach. There are two steep climbs up to the top on each side but it is well worth the climb. We went with my family and my Nan and Grandad were fine with the climb. At the top there is lots to explore and the view across the coast is absolutely stunning. It is worth it just for the view. There is a cafe and a little shop and the price is very reasonable. If you’re not up to climbing back up the path to the village there is a land rover service which charges a couple of quid to get back up. Thoroughly enjoyed Tintagel Castle and will definitely be going back next time we are holidaying in Cornwall.

“was it?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

the burning question is was this King Arthur's castle? Hmm, still to be discussed a lot. Regardless of that, this is a most atmospheric and interesting ruin, on the scenic rugged beauty of the cliffs. access is an issue if you have buggies or wheelchairs, phone ahead to ask. Wear walking shoes as it is a rocky path around the site. exceptional stuff for the keen photographers out there

“Very impressive!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

I really enjoyed walking around the old castle, it is in such a beautiful location. I was more than happy to pay to climb up the steps and have a look, however the extra 1 or 2 pounds we had to pay for a peice of paper with the castle map was a bit ridiculous.

“Worth a visit although entrance fee is pricey.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

The view from the cliff top is fantastic. The steps look daunting but not difficult at all. We managed with our 2,6 and 12 year olds just fine. One word of advise though - once you are on the top of the island there is no protection for kids from the cliff edges so watch your kids like a hawk! Its a bit pricey to get up there - that's my only criticism and we were charged the full amount at 5.30pm when we only had about 45 minutes to spend up there.

“A fun outing, and good exercise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

We went to Tintagel Castle for an outing, and also drove on to Bude. Walking the site provided very, very good exercise, that's very2 meaning that walking up the stairs of the site is not for the out of shape! It is said to have been a legendary King Arthur site, or the castle ruins of others... it was interesting and there is a film to watch. This site is part of one of the National Trusts. The walk (you can ride a jeep for a few quid) to and from the site I now recall was also really, really good exercise! (and I say really2x!) You will know what I mean after going there. We enjoyed the outing, and it was different, scenic, and good exercise.
