“A real sense of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We visited St. Mawes castle on a sunny day in July and spent a good few hours exploring this excellently preserved tudor building. The views across St. Mawes and Falmouth are breathtaking, and the castle gives a real sense of the threat of invasion that Henry VIII must have felt during his reign. The accompanying glossy guide is also well worth the cost of a few extra pounds to provide you with a detailed description of the castle and its lifetime.

Small and cute. We love castles and this is one of the best we have visited. The story is simple and well told. The castle is well proportioned and accessible.
