“The perfect small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

I had the most wonderful stay at The Tide House. I was in St Ives for work and they could not have been more accomodating. Parking was so easy, which is huge plus in this seaside, narrow laned town. The rooms are beautifully furnished, are such a high standard and also rather large, for such an old, historic building. It has been lovingly restored and every detail has been given a great deal of thought. The breakfast was incredible - make sure you take full advantage! I can't wait to go back - hopefully for a holiday next time! It's definately top of my list for places to stay in the UK. Worth a trip all the way to St Ives alone....

Room Tip: The top room has breathtaking views over St Ives and a balcony as well.

If you are in St. Ives, it is a must staying there! Perfect ambiente, service and breakfast. Located very close to the famous harbour, the Tide House gives you the whole atmosphere of St. Ives. Rebuilt on a extreme high standard, you feel like home.

A very special place indeed! The decor is stunning and every detail has been attended to. The location is great- putting you right in the heart of this beautiful town and within easy reach of St Ives many good restaurants - some exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and the welcome is truly first class. Satying here is like being a houseguest in a friend'sstunning house. I can't recommend The Tide House.

This is my favourite boutique hotel ever. Its bright feel and comfortable decor make it feel like a home from very elegant home! My children loved it and felt excited about their stay, both enjoying the bedroom layout, giving them and us a feeling of privacy in the same room and the delicious Breakfast. We feel completely relaxed after our special treat. Thanks so much we will be back very soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in a family room, but asked to see the suite at the top of the hotel which had really love...

We stayed at the Tide House in January and were very impressed with the quality of the bedrooms and the communal areas, which are huge, light and beautifully presented. The breakfasts are a real treat and so relaxed.
We have just been back for another stay and cannot praise it highly enough: even better than we remembered. Every hotel should strive to achieve this level of comfort, hospitality and attention to detail. What can I say? 11/10.

My hubby and I stayed here over the weekend a couple of weeks ago. We are generally going for boutique and design quickly hotels, and I shall say that the Tide House is what boutique hotel words shall stay for.

First I shall mention that they opened only September 2012 that is the only reason they are not in the top 3 best hotels in Cornwall.

I was a bit wary about the place since for my e-mail query regarding the spa, I was directed straight to the therapist which is not the common practice for any luxury accommodation but as it turned out was done only to save everyone's time and liaise with the therapist direct to avoid any miscommunication or double booking.

We didn't have a chance to meet Suzy who bakes most delicious brownies for guests (and they leave free fresh milk or water in shared fridge in the hall - how cool is that?!) but David made everything to make our stay so personal and most joyful. One can see that he deeply enjoys a change from the hectic Citi professional life and fully dedicates to his new incredibly beautiful project :)

Pros:
-Service (if driving from London, just call David (reception) and they will wait for you even late at night!)
-Ambience (a place which always has fresh flowers and candles lit up, just like on that brochure)
-Free fresh locally sorted milk, and water in the communal fridge (yes, as much as you like)
-Delicious home-made brownies in your room
-Separate "dens" to relax for both grown-ups and kids
-Allow you to take breakfast for your partner who likes to sleep in (that's what we talk personal!!)
-Location (beach is just around the corner)
-Good quality cosmetics (Aromatherapy Associates) - (suggestion: maybe to offer spf in the hottest season?)

We were originally late to book at Boskerris Hotel, and received their reference for this place. Now when we travel to St Ives in the summer the Tide House is the only place to stay for us.

Thanks so much, David and Suzie!!

Lots of luck,
Ekaterina & Jonathan

Room Tip: all rooms are great, just book i advance if during the hot season

We were delighted to find this stunning hotel in St Ives: Just what St Ives has been waiting for! Our room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed with a super view of the harbour and an amazing bathroom. We were happy to sit in the armchairs and read as we loved our room so much. The hotel has a lovely calm and delightful atmosphere with friendly, helpful and yet discreet staff. A delicious breakfast every morning topped off a wonderful stay. We can't wait to return!
