“What on Earth”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014 via mobile

We saw the board in harbour saying olives cafe so went to explore and have a quick lunch was greeted by a lovely pleasant lady ! Ordered tea and baguettes came very quickly but were not baguettes as such ! Were very thick chunks of bread off a bloomer loaf loaded with a spread huge lettuce leaves everything was huge tomatoes very thick ham that you couldn't put your knife through couldn't pick the beast up or cut it !! With out losing all dignity and spreading it everywhere would of been better a quarter of the amount on normal size baguettes it's a lovely little cafe in delightful spot olives has got some wonderful reviews but should not be above criticism as I noticed owner did not take kindly to a previous poor review

“Will be visiting again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

We popped in here for a coffee and loved it so went back for lunch. The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. We loved the ambience of this lovely little café. Unhurried and relaxed, we were not rushed at all and ended up staying most of the afternoon. The food was delicious and freshly prepared to order. The home made cakes are absolutely delicious. The scones are amazing. A very down to earth, really comfortable feeling place. Definitely will be visiting again,

“Mmmmm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Wandering back from the beach found Olives and booked an evening table. Was dubious at 1st but a great atmosphere ,nice food and friendly service. Our guest chef for the night was Paula ,a lovely meal. Would recommend trying this one. A nice touch having guest chefs on different nights.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

We ate here twice whilst in St Ives last week. It's a very special place; pretty and intimate......the decor is lovely, inside and out. The staff are very attentive; we had two fantastic meals and on the Monday evening the chef came out to talk with us about his amazing food.
Take the time to find this gem of a place...it's worth it!

“Lucky break - pop up chef from Cornish Deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

By chance we were looking for somewhere to eat after a lovely evening with a friend in St Ives. We spotted the lights still on in Olives and found that tonight we would be chefed by Mark of the Cornish Deli on a Monday night away from his usual haunt.

We had Blackened Salmon as one main and Cornish Mackrel on Samphire - they were both quite delicious. We had a shared starter of squid and chorizo which were in a lovely self created rich stock. Wow.

It was a quick visit and when we return to St Ives we will most definitely book for a long leisurely meal there, and take another trip to the Cornish Deli where we went, following the chef, for our last evening in St Ives. Thank you to both establishments and Mark.
