“A family affair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

This really is the beach to visit to chill out, and to bring a young family! The beach is sheltered from the wind from both sides and is quite small but loaded with character...Here you can hire deck chairs, wind breakers and even a beach house for the day!
There is also a tea bar selling hot snacks etc.
Savvy travellers will know to head here............

“Lovely family beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

A much smaller beach than Porthmeor and Porthminster. Because its not so open its much more sheltered. The beach cafe is great for snacks on the beach or a meal if you would rather sit inside.

“Fabulous family beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

as long as you can get down the slope or few steps to this beach then you are in for a treat. Small enough to be safe for the children yet large enough so there is enough room for everybody this is an excellent and clean beach. Little shop and cafe close to hand and toilets at the top of the slope approach. Been here many, many times and yes the other beaches in St Ives are fab too - this one is my favorite! Last holiday at low tied a sea lion even joined us in the breaking waves....wonderful!

“Breakfast on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

If your looking for a hearty breakfast with a view to die for then this is the place. Great food, great atmosphere, great service and of course a great view as the restaurant is literally on the beach. Good value for money also so there's no excuse for not visiting. A note for family's is that we visited as a party of 7, without a reservation, the staff quickly rearranged tables, delivered a high chair and chatted to the 3 children as they carried out their duties, we never felt any pressure to rush or make the children sit like robots and be quiet. It all added to a really good atmosphere and once we'd finished it was off down the steps for a paddle in the sea.

“A beach that is perfect for children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

This is a busy beach, but it is a happy beach. There is room for children to play with balls, bats and the like to their hearts delight. The sound and sight of children having fun is a sight to behold. There is a cafe just above the beach which sells fish and chips and freshly made baguettes.
