“Heavenly Chill Out”

White Waves Guest House

Mar 25, 2008

White Waves made our recent trip to St. Ives. My boyfriend and I were looking for a romantic, peaceful weekend away from London eating pasties and walking on the seashore. We'd never been to St Ives and loved it, but without a comfortable, charming, welcoming place to stay I'm sure things would have been different. Our room had a scrumptious view of the sea -- the place is only a few minutes walk to the shore. Plus Howie and Andy who run it are so kind and ready to help or not help, depending on what you are looking for. Breakfast is cooked practically to order (with many veggie options!) and served at a decent time. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that I would stay here again in a second.

My husband and I returned a few days ago from our first visit to Cornwall for many years but we aim to go back sooner rather than later. This is thanks mainly to the wonderfully warm welcome we received from Howie on our arrival. He made our stay with him so relaxed and it seemed that nothing would be too much trouble for him. We even stayed an extra day more than we'd originally booked for.
The beautiful house ,with awesome views across St. Ives harbour, was spotless and had loads of lovely, interesting things to look at including original artwork on the walls, which could be purchased, (the artist ,Andy, lives here too) There was a wonderful choice of foods for breakfast and plenty of it - no need for lunch if you have the full Cornish!
I've never felt the need to write a review about our trips before but this one stood out so much I can't let the opportunity go by without offering praise where it's due.

We spent a few very relaxing days in White Waves and agreed that it was one of the friendliest and most comfortable b & bs that we have stayed in. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and the breakfasts set you up for the day! Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Howie and Andy and you are made to feel very welcome. We look forward to returning in the future.

“White Waves Rocks, want to go back already!”

White Waves Guest House

Mar 3, 2008

Just returned from two nights at White Waves Guest House and was very sad to leave.

We were made very welcome by Howie and Andy, the room was immaculate and with great views of St Ives.

The breakfasts are delicious with plenty of choice.

Highly recommend it and will certainly be going back hopefully in the not too distant future.

Thanks very much.

“Fabulous!”

White Waves Guest House

Feb 22, 2008

After reading the reviews on trip advisor - i wanted to stay at White Waves and emailed them, after a few lovely informative mails back and forth we arrived Sunday lunchtime after a 4 hour drive - so were very ready for the warm welcome from Howie - instantly put us at ease, offered up a lovely cuppa & biccies and at our request - a recommendation to a fantastic carvery for lunch - no problem with parking at the b&b as they have spaces and are literally 4mins walk away from the harbour. Our room - the crows nest - was a lovely room - the bed was more comfy than mine at home and the white linen on the bed smelled so fresh it was a pleasure to get into, the room felt so cosy, warm and homely. Breakfast - which might i add is pretty yummy - whatever you choose - i had fresh fruit, full english and the croissants with bacon & mushrooms (not all on the same day of course!) - it set us up for the day and Howie will make you smile lots, we asked him about lovely places to visit and he gave us some great places which i had never even seen before - oh - i also asked where to get the best piece of cod.. and he was spot on there too! I had to have another before i left! Andy has a lovely unique little shop which is well worth a visit and nothing is too much trouble for Howie, just ask! The guys are great, and i was sad to come home - st ives is a hard place to leave behind and the b&b even harder - i think of the guys as friends now and wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else when we go back - as the guys say - they are just a normal guesthouse - but i say you'd be hard pushed to find such a comfortable atmosphere anywhere else

Liked - clean, quiet, friendly, lovely brekkie and hosts!

Disliked - Saying goodbye :o(
