My first view of the hotel was WOW.. And has I drove through the extensive gardens with lovely lodges set here and there. With tennis courts and a golf course , and a outside swimming pool it really was impressive.
Walking in through the main entrance past the leather chesterfields towards the reception I wasn't disappointed , the receptionist was warm and friendly and efficient and explained what time breakfast and dinner was served and that cream tea was now being served .
We walked to the room and that was where the dream ended, the room was large and looked tidy at first view, large built in wardrobes with plenty of drawer space and hangers.
There was tea and coffee facility's and biscuits.. The TV was tiny and was lost in such a large room and no WiFi in the room.
The bathroom was looking very tired with a chipped and stained bath, and paint work was cracked and peeling in places.. Pity. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water not that you needed it with the glorious weather we had whilst we was there.
It was whilst we was exploring the room that I found something left from the previous tenant, without going into detail I would have expected the cleaners to find it.
We stayed there for three days and had to ask for new towels since they wasn't changed and a empty cup of tea wasn't removed by the cleaners , it felt like because we didn't make much mess the room was refreshed not cleaned.. The building was very clean and immaculate in the public areas. So it was a pity really.
The breakfast was very good with a great choice of fresh fruit , and a full English to choose from if you want it.
