This hotel seems to be stuck in some kind of time warp.
After a warm welcome by the young lady at reception we were lead to our room down a lurid and dingy corridor. The carpets and wallpaper are a sickly green colour, enough to put you off your breakfast and as for the 'classy' decorated sticky-back plastic covering the glass doors and windows in the corridor, need I say more?!
Our room was ok, again the decor is very dated. The bathroom, although miniscule, was clean and our towels were changed daily.
We only ate in the restaurant once, but found the food and service very good.
Another thing I'd say is that after midday, they switch the lights off in the corridors, (probably to conserve electricity), so after returning from a visit to St Ives town on a bright and sunny morning, my wife and I couldn't see a thing. Im not sure this would comply with health and safety laws but hey, at least they are energy efficient!!
