“Perfect Family Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

We returned to the Chy an Albany to celebrate our dads' 65th birthday, after spending our childhood holidays there many years ago! We could not wait to return, now with the latest additions to our family and it most certainly lived up to expectations!
The hotel had obviously been updated, and it had a lovely look and feel to it. We immediately felt at home. My 2 young children loved it there too and didn't want to leave!
The staff were friendly and helpful and really could not do enough for us. I was so impressed with the service and care they provided. They were really accommodating and helped us make sure dad's birthday was so special.
Breakfast was amazing! A great selection of food on offer every morning and it was all delicious! The breakfast cooked to order was my personal favourite and the coffee was flowing :)
I really recommend this hotel..... We cannot wait to return!-again!
Thank you for a fantastic family break.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe family room with a gorgeous terrace that we shared with our family. Lovely, clean ro...

We (Jane & Wes) stayed at the Chy-An-Albany Hotel, St.Ives, Cornwall in July to celebrate Wes's birthday. It was out first time to St. Ives. What a beautiful place. The hotel was fantastic. We were really well looked after. The room was great, especially room 11. All the staff were exceptionally good at their job. Wes had a birthday meal & the view from the Lighthouse Bistro restaurant was amazing with sea views. Our waitress was Lou enna (not sure if that's the right spelling) & our waiter was Dan. He was really knowledgeable about drinks. They were both very good at their jobs & were polite, both had a really nice manner, they were professional, & genuine. Really impressed.
When we return to St. Ives, we will definitely book into the Chy-An-Albany Hotel. Can't wait!!

We went here as a family. My husband, son and his wife and our beautiful little granddaughter.

The family room and our room had stunning sea views and my husband and I had the added bonus of having a balcony room.

The breakfast catered for everyone's requirements and it was an extensive menu.

The staff were warm and friendly and extremely helpful.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and we definitely would go back there again

Room Tip: if going in August book early!! St Ives extremely busy. If possible, request sea view room as the sc...

Just returned from a few days in St Ives. This is a well situated hotel overlooking Porthminster beach. Staff are friendly. There is a good breakfast selection and there is plenty of room as guests can eat in the rear room if required. On a couple of occasions some of the hot breakfast items ran out. They were restocked within a couple of minutes though. Two well sized car parks which were full at the end of each day. Hotel not ideal if you have mobility problems as it is a 5min downhill walk to the town. We will return again.

Room Tip: If you are booking a deluxe room, ask for one with a balcony.

We had our wedding reception here on Sat. 16th Aug. and it was fantastic! Our guests are still talking about how lovely the food was and how much they all ate, definitely no leftovers! The staff were very helpful and the restaurant ran very efficiently with 65 of us eating. We had 120 approx to the evening do and there was still plenty of room for the dancefloor and seating. The hotel decor is very clean and modern, and when the room was all done up it looked amazing. We stayed in a beautiful suite overnight which was included, and had a hearty breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a wedding venue as it has a lot to offer, especially the views of the bay. Compared with other wedding venues in this area, this hotel is very reasonable and the food is delicious! xx

Booked in for 5 nights.
Problem with fan noise from room above me on first night - (I was in room 16.) Moved to another room and had an excellent stay. Breakfasts are fantastic!
Due to first night problem was charged for four nights not five - thanks Julia! - (I donated the 'refund' to SENSE (Deaf-Blind Association.)

I stayed here for four nights at the height of the season. I had a single room which, not unexpectedly, didn't have a sea view, but the garden view was good, and as it was on the quiet side of the hotel, meant that I could leave the window open all night in the warm nights and not be disturbed by traffic noise etc. Everything about the hotel was excellent, but I would especially single out how splendid the staff were. If I choose St Ives again, I'll certainly choose the Chy an Albany.
