“Wow what a holiday!”

Carbis Bay Hotel

Apr 29, 2008

We have just come back from Cornwall, where we stayed at the Carbis Bay Hotel and we couldn't believe our luck! The hotel has the best views I have seen and even though we didn't opt for a sea view room, it really didn't matter because you just had to spend five minutes in the conservatory and you will never forget those views! Follow that with beautifully in keeping decor and lovely food, well what more can you ask from a holiday.

As for our room, it was perfect for what we wanted with the right amount of luxury without costing the earth. It was clean, bright and lovely.

We hope to return to the hotel very soon and spend another few days relaxing and enjoying the lovely atmosphere.

“Over priced And Dated”

Well, the Hotel is not the nicest we've stayed in. We stayed at the Hotel for the Easter weekend.
This hotel is not for young couples or children.
Menu is basic and food average.

The room we stayed in was a sea view Superior. Well Superior it was NOT! The room was tiny.
The only thing I can say that was great was the Shower (power shower). And the friendly cat in the hallway.

The friendliness of the staff was non existant. Almost as if they could not stand us being there.
Parking over this busy weekend was difficult.
Never again will I stay here in this Hotel. It's a pity really because the views are amazing.

my family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children booked this hotel for the easter break at cost of £250.00 per night.inc breakfast and dinner

we booked this hotel due to the location and popping in during a summer holiday and finding the bar/conservatory area very pleasant

i feel that the hotel is overpriced for what you get, the room we booked was a superior family room with sea view, this room seemed grubby and need of some love and attention.

the food is ok but the choices are limited meat and 2 veg seams to be the order of the day!!

i would say this is a basic hotel for the older holiday maker

and would not recomend this hotel if you have children

I have been reading the reviews on the Carbis Bay Hotel and am astounded by some of them! Ever thought some of the authors might be saboteurs. Our daughter got married at the hotel in August this year and although this was a very small wedding party (8 in total) we had the most fabulous time. The staff couldnt have been nicer, the food was excellent and all of our rooms were perfectly acceptable. We were extremely lucky with the weather and everyone looking at the photos thought we were in the Caribbean. The location is stunning. Our daughter and son-in-law got the wedding of their dreams.

We booked Carbis Bay Hotel through the Saga brochure. We were very happy with the welcome we received and the receptionist even took us up to our room. The porter brought the luggage up straight away. Our room was a good size with a double and a single bed. The room faced the garden, pool and the sea. We thought the food was excellent with the most marvellous choices for breakfast and a really good choice of starters, main courses and desserts for dinner. The food was to a high standard and deserving the AA red rosette awarded to the hotel. Friendly, with good service and excellent value. We will visit this hotel again.
