“Good surfing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Lovely clean beach with good surfing. Facilities fine and good beach café. Went on a perfect day when the surf was high. Popular but plenty of room.

“This beach has everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

The beach is large enough to accommodate a lot of people. The golden sands are made up of finely crushed shells that are quite persistent in sticking to your wet bits.
Depending on the wind there is often enough surf running to attract surfers who have their own flagged off area. RNLI lifeguards have a permanent presence there.
At low water there are many rock pools to explore towards the Island Car park end of the beach. There are 2 cafes to choose from and public toilets very handy for the beach.
St. Ives has 3 great beaches but I think Porthmeor is our favourite.

“Surfer's paradise”

The surf school is a must if you want to try surfing for the first time. All facilities on the beach are very clean and there is a great cafe nearby. Beautiful, wonderful beach!
