“Lovely building - art is largely modern. Great cafe.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

The building is lovely, but not very big. An extension is being built.
Mostly modern art, so if this is not your bag, you can just go to the cafe free of admission charge. The cafe has fabulous views of the town and bay; food is good, coffee great.

“A joke”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Someone is having a laugh and walking off with the money. There are far more negative reviews about this place than positive ones and yet nothing is being done about it. My wife loves art and even she was terribly disappointed with all the ultra modern exhibits. She couldn't believe that that was all - she googled the site, when she came out, to see if she had missed anything.
At least the building has been artfully constructed.

Utter boring rubbish, full of annoying snobs...

But then I don't get modern art..

Not really any good for kids as they can't touch anything.

“Quite incredible”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

For setting, light and views there isn't a better gallery in England and add the magical Hepworth garden an excellent and reasonable rooftop cafe and friendly and well informed staff and you have a great way of spending two afternoons when the beach is too hot or the surf isn't up. Yes it will be better when the extension allows a permanent collection, and TWO YEARS ago the balloon installation got a bit hectic but trip advisor isn't normally full of the kind of twaddle I've read in some of these reviews.

“Zero star review, but had to put 1”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Awful, awful, awful. Avoid.

There is nothing there. Nothing of interest or value whatsoever. To charge admission is a joke for the content. Our 2 children got in free, so it appeared to be good value at £14 for 2 adults.

Everything in this Tate is abstract, and odd. I believe that all the work is from people from the Cornish locality. My daughter loves art, and her friend who was with us also loves art, and her mother is an artist. Neither of the children liked a singular thing in the gallery.

All of that aside, you better take your time and most the most of what pathetic content is in there. There are only 3 rooms of art. That and 2 walkways. Thats it. Period. If you don't like what you see (and you wont, trust me), then you'll be in and out n 15 minutes easily. I really wish i could have filmed that look on our faces when we came out and realised that was it!

On the way out my 2 girls both fell the need to complete the feedback forms, and gave them, well...... "Feedback".
