“Great Value, Great Food, Great View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2010

A really great find in St Ives, good local food, with a great surprise that there was such a brilliant view from the Upstairs restaurant. Would need to book in the hight of the summer.

“Excellent place for supper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2010

We went on 2 consecutive nights as we enjoyed it so much. The staff are friendly and helpful. We turned up on a Bank Holiday night with no booking but no problem, sent to wait in bar downstairs and got a table 10 mins later with excellent communication between bar staff downstairs and restaurant staff upstairs. This is often overlooked!
The view from window tables is fab. The burgers were tasty and not greasy and the crab linguine and pea risotto were very good.
This place is not intended to be a fine dining experience. It is a bar and grill and does what it says on the tin !
Really enjoyed and we will be back soon

“Great food, waiting staff were outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2010

Restaurant is on the first floor, great sea views. Seafood was excellent and the two young ladies waiting at tables were outstanding. Would recommend this restaurant as the best in St. Ives.

“excellent! What's all the fuss about.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2010

We arrived at the restaurant with a little anxiety from the reviews, and were delighted that it was far from what we read. The atmosphere was buzzing and restaurant was packed. We were seated at our table despite being 20 minutes early. The waitresses were excellent and were very helpful. The food was very good and good value for money. The comments about not getting good service and slow were unfounded. They were very efficient. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

“Embarassing, disappointing and uncomfortable”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2010

We went to this new restaurant as we have been coming to St. Ives for years and fancied trying somewhere new. The menu looked easy and there was something for all of us and it looked inviting.

The service was very slow which we didn't mind at first, but eventually when I had waited 25 minutes for my main course it then came and the fish was uncooked in the middle, it was sent back, no apology. It then came back 20 mins later and was just as underdone. Staff would not take it off the bill, argued with me telling me it was my poor choice and that it 'was meant to be like that'...raw? I doubt it. They made us feel very uncomfortable. Didn't seem to care that we'd been there 2 hours and I was starving! The rest of the food we did have was average and certainly not a patch on Porthminster cafe of Portmeor cafe both of which were excellent in very sense. The staff just didn't offer a good level of service and had a bad attitude. They need to get better staff or offer them some training otherwise they won't survive in such a competitive and professional market.
Avoid.
