“Lovely Stay, Lovely Location, Lovely views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

Visited Cottage Hotel as part of an organised trip with Alfa Travel. Could not fault anything. Our room had a lovely view of the bay (we had paid for a sea view room and I would pay again). Food lovely, room and all areas clean. Staff lovely. Would go back again.

Room Tip: Pick a Sea View Room - its well worth the extra money!

last minute booking for the bank holiday weekend and The Cottage Hotel proved to be an ideal base for walking some sections of the south west coast path. On arrival we had a warm welcome from the manager and the receptionist. We found all the staff we encountered to be very professional, efficient polite and helpful. We had a lovely room, spotlessley clean with crisp sheets on the bed, large shower in the bathroom, nice toiletries and a hospitality tray replenished daily.
Breakfast was served quickly and was very nice and plenty of it.We did not have evening meals as we were there on bed and breakfast basis which was extremely reasonable in price for a Bank holiday weekend and on checking the tariff,it is a good value place to stay at any time of the year. It is situated in a beautiful spot with a fantastic view over Carbis Bay and we found it to be a peaceful area which we liked very much. Would return for another break without doubt.

We stayed in this very well managed hotel as part of an inexpensive package with Appleby's, the Lincolnshire coach company. In every way the cottage hotel exceeded our expectations. Most unexpected, and much appreciated, was the porterage of cases to and from our room. The room was spacious, with a lovely view, very clean and welcoming.

The building itself is somewhat dated - very seventies - and in some respects in need of refurbishment, though not shabby. There is no reliable mobile phone service at this location, tbut we were able to establish a wifi hotspot good enough to watch a film on the iPad and to get email.

In the huge dining room tables for four were properly furnished with tablecloth and cutlery, and served by a willing and cheerful team of waiters. Our waitress, Isabella, could not have been more helpful. The menu was limited in scope, although there was always choice enough to satisfy everyone's taste, and - most importantly - it arrived hot on warmed plates and well cooked. The only criticism one could offer concerned portion size. There was too much of it. Far too much!

There is just one timed sitting - breakfast at 0815 and dinner at 1820. We prefer to eat later, and more flexibly, but this is a minor point.

We thoroughly enjoyed The Cottage Hotel. The management and staff deserve congratulations and thanks!

We have just returned from a 3 night Easter Break with Alfa Coach Tours. We had a lovely time and would thoroughly recommend this hotel and tour company. The staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was superb (pay extra for the sea view if you can - it is well worth it). The hotel was very clean and the food was great - plenty of choice and plenty of it. The evening entertainment was pleasant and there is a lovely snooker table and darts board as well as a large relaxing sitting room. All-in-all an excellent, value for money break. Thank you to everyone. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: Top floor has the best sea views.

We have just returned from a long weekend stay at the Cottage Hotel and had a lovely time. The Hotel has breathtaking views across the bay and the staff are both friendly and welcoming. Our room was huge and had a lovely large bathroom too. Food was excellent and there is a lovely walk down to the beach albeit a little steep. Would recommend this Hotel.
