“Excellent grub............great decor........... attentive staff........”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2009

We booked an early table to take advantage of their 'special deal' but in the end chose about the most expensive thing from the a la carte!! Oh well, these things happen!

I started with the venison carpaccio with rocket, parmesan, caper berries, rosemary and lemon oil and hub had the pork and foie gras terrine with rye toast and caramelised onions. Both were delicious!

We both had a half lobster with crab risotto for our main course and it was gorgeous!

Piglets that we are, we rounded off the meal by sharing an orange blossom and grand marnier creme brulee and a glass of dessert wine.

This restaurant was new to us since our last visit, so it was a 'must try'! I can highly recommend it. We had a better meal here than we had at the Porthminster Beach.

“A great little restaurant well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2009

We really enjoyed both our meals here - we had lunch and dinner. The atmosphere was very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was well prepared and presented and there was a good choice of wine for dinner. We felt it was good value for money and would return and recommend it to others. The decor was very modern but in no way detracted from a great experience.

“Unmissable little treasure in St Ives”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

Yes, the decor is a little too modern for such a quaint village but the service is perfection and the food is great. Compared to the porthminster, the prices are much more affordable and the entire staff much more knowlegeable about what is coming out of their kitchen.
Book in advance becuase it is tiny.

“worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2009

This is definitely one of St Ives best restaurants. The decor is a bit London try hard, but the food was exquisite, beautifully thought out, using the best food and cooked by genuine chefs and the service great. After the Porthminster Beach cafe I'd rate this as St Ives second best restaurant.

“An all round quality, enjoyable experience without breaking the bank.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2009

This restaurant is really the hidden gem of St Ives. Finest quality dining in a relaxed and welcoming atmoshphere with helpful and knowledgable staff. The menu boasts locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Everything without exception is made from scratch. The Chef's passion is clear to see as they have an open hatch so you can see your food being cooked and are welcome to ask questions to the Chef who also made a point of recomending the perfect drink to go follow my meal. Unbelievably, the menu is priced very reasonably with starters around £5.95 and main courses around the £14 mark. I can highly recommend the sirloin steak with hand cut chips and the seabream which was so fresh and sweet. The desserts are an experience in themselves. Try the homemade Panna Cotta and ask for recommendations on which wines, drinks go with your meal. If this wasn't enough then there is also a selection of stunning artwork & pottery by local artists, which is available to buy. Enjoy!!
