“A little gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

This is such a good restaurant! Its small and unpretentious, I love the decor, local pottery and pictures. The staff are lovely, and the food is always excellent, especially the seafood. I've eaten there twice and will certainly go back again and again.

“Excellent mussels with chorizo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Excellent food in the company of beautiful St Ives pots - a random visit to a surprisingly quirky restaurant. Mussels with chorizo was especially good. Attentive and charming service and reasonably price - I enjoyed the food more than the more glamorous beach cafes but on a wet October night this restaurant in the centre of StIves has the edge.

“The Black Rock rocks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We had an excellent meal here on a rainy October night. It is an attractive space with lovely art work on display and there is plenty of space between tables. Staff were unfailingly efficient and friendly. The food was just gorgeous. Crab claws in garlic butter and a goats cheese salad for starters followed by belly pork and monkfish were all beautifully cooked and presented as well as being absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

“Shining Star”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

There are lots of restaurants to choose from in St Ives, most of similar price but unequal quality. You won't be disappointed if you try this one. It is smallish but perfectly formed, welcoming but unfussy and with local art work on walls. Efficient and friendly front of house. We went twice during our week in the town and enjoyed good food on both occasions. The menu is seasonal and features locally sourced food which we found to be well cooked and presented. We had belly pork and fish stew on early bird menu, very good. Have been when in St Ives before, and this place just gets better each time. Look forward to next year.

“Peanut butter ice cream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Lovely, little restaurant with a cracking atmosphere. The food was great. Venison served pink was perfectly cooked, and the peanut butter ice cream was a bundle of fun. The service was really good too, attentive and friendly, but not over the top. Would really recommend.
