“Comfy and Clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

Probably one of the best British Hotels we have experienced. The room was very clean and tidy, The Staff exceptionally accommodating and helpful. The breakfast and evening meal was cooked and presented well, with locally sourced produce, with a good selection of beer and wine. No good though if you are disabled though as the stairs to the rooms are quite steep, but on the good side we are fitter.

Room Tip: Top Floor had nice rooms, and good views to the sea, over the roof tops. Seagulls are nesting presen...

Stayed here for one night while walking the Coast Path. It is clearly a pub that does a side line in accommodation. We had to drag our own cases, which had been delivered by our luggage transfer company, up to the second floor (no lift). The room was incredibly small, and the en suite bathroom was not really upto the required standard, with noisy plumbling and other deficiencies. We stayed on a Monday night, and there was no food being served that evening. The room was at the front of the building and street noise was a problem until very late at night, and to cap it all Boots across the road had a (very noisy) delivery at 5.45 am, which was an alarm call we could have done without! The breakfast was adequate without being inspiring (a self acclaimed gastro-pub should perhaps be doing better with their breakfast?). A final tip to anyone thinking of booking this and who is a light sleeper would be to ask for a room at the back of the building, which presumably might suffer less from street noise.

This is a great place for an easter family holiday! The food was especially tasty and the Jukebox was a nice characteristic that really worked! The rooms were very fresh and clean, with some really good touches of decoration. We look forward to going there again soon!

Despite having a confirmed booking, with a booking reference and a printout of the confirmation, their "new system" didn't show any booking for us. All their rooms had been booked, and so we were left with no other option but to accept their apologies and an offer to find us somewhere else to stay.

The staff seemed nice, and it was very centrally located. Parking isn't available, so you will want to park at the train station and walk. Would suggest you call ahead of time to check your booking hasn't "disappeared".

Went to St Ives with my husband who had a buisness meeting.Did not book any accomadation but decided on the day to stay the night.
Parked in St Ives and wandered around the cobbled streets to come across the Queens Hotel.By chance they had just received a cancellation and we were offered an attic room with a partial sea view for £65 per couple on a B7B basis.
The room was very clean, spotless white bed linen and fluffy towels.
The breakfast was served in the bar between 8-9 am which was superb and used freshly cooked produce.
Only problem heating was on a timer, so room got cold.
Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Visited for a weekend away with friends. A lovely well presented pub/guest house. Lovely room (number 7) and a very nice central base only 5 minutes walk away from train station with very friendly welcoming staff. Would recommend you leave your car at home and get the train if possible like we did as would imagine a nightmare to park. Didn't eat there but the menu looked very good and reasonable too. Would definately recommend to friends. For a cheap pint visit the Balcony Bar. Lovely place with views and the cheapest pint by far!

Room Tip: Room 7. Although up 3 flights of stairs a lovely clean fresh room

We stayed in one of the new refurbished rooms on the top floor. Fab room, all new, bed really comfortable, loads of space, lovely decorated, huge clean bathroom.

Only 2 negatives, 1 - can be noisy as the hotel is right in the centre, as long as you have the window closed, you will have peace and quiet.
2 - Breakfast was a bit naf. Ours was cold and rubbery. The toast nearly broke a tooth it was that hard. So dont bank on a lovely hearty breakfast.

Room Tip: Get one of the new rooms on the top floor. Room 6,7 or 8.
