“Well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

A quirky but very warm and friendly restaurant. The food was excellent and very ample portions. So much so there was no room for desert! Helpful advice from the owner about wine choice. Art work adds to the over all experience. The chef should be congratulated! We will return again.

“The best seafood linguine ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We searched for this excellent bistro after consulting the Good Food Guide and what a find it was. For a Tuesday night in October it was busy - always a good sign but the proprietor was very welcoming. My wife started with grilled halloumi with beetroot and amazing blackberry pearls - which she thought delicious. I had pear, walnut and blue cheese which was delightful. My main course was seafood linguine which was superb - with plenty of mussels and scallops and unusually with a very tasty broth. My wife had hake as a main which was very good and we both shared a panacotta to finish. It was all very well done and a special mention for the waitress who was both knowledgeable about the menu and food as well as being very professional. It was a great meal and we would thoroughly recommend the Bistro.

“Relaxed & wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

A lovely evening with wonderful food & friendly service! Perfect night out :)

Delicious mussels to start, followed by seafood linguine with the sweetest scallops, plus the bread was slow yeasted perfection.... No complaints at all & we will be back!

“Good food in nice surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We visited St Andrews again this year for an evening meal and we we enjoyed our choices. The owner is very welcoming and makes a point of welcoming all his guests, not always the case in some eating places but well worth doing. Our food was very enjoyable, I had Hake with a sauce made with saffron and honey with a slight chilli after taste, personally I did not think it went with the fish but it is a personal view, the fish was excellent as were the vegetables. My wife had a chicken dish and was very happy with it as a main course. The Bistro is off the main drag of places to eat but well worth looking out for a good night out.

“A must if visiting St Ives”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We ate here while on holiday with our sons. The seafood linguine is simply THE BEST we've ever had (and have had it in London, Italy, etc). It was a huge portion packed with fish and, in particular, very sweet crab. Still dreaming of it!! The decor and atmosphere are superb and the owner and staff are very attentive and genuinley friendly. Only negative point...it's too far away from home!
