We stayed at Great Kellow for 4 nights in July and had a wonderful time. Yes, the site is basic in that there is only 1 shower per gender and 2 toilets but they are very clean & Jenny & John get in 4 more additional toilets as in porta loos.
Pitching your tent - there is the main field where unless you have electric hook-up you have to be in the centre of the field or as we did go in the first field and pitch up against the hedge row. When we got there we where the only ones in this field and at the busiest there was only 4 other tents, so plenty of space.
Location - Its about 10 min walk down into Polperro town and about 20 mins back up a steep hill, but you could get a taxi which only costs £5. Well worth it!!
What could make this place better - Having been to several sites like this the only things that we thought would be an improvement would be if there was a freezer say in a shed or such like so that you can put your freezer blocks and such items in. This would save disturbing Jenny & John when you want your ice blocks freezing. The other would be an additional showers as even though we never had to wait I can imagine when busy season, a queue could quite easily form.
Provisions - You need to go into Looe for your provisions. There are 2 well stocked Co-ops. But get your eggs of Jenny. Superb!!
To finalise - Go here if you want to camp somewhere where people have respect for each other and you can just relax. Don't go here if you want to go clubbing and want children's clubs.
