“Hotel Penzance 3 nights for price of 2.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We are a well travelled couple starting to enjoy semi-retirement and trips out of high season. We chose the Hotel Penzance based on location, some very positive reviews on TripAdvisor and the hotel's special offer of 3 nights for the price of 2. On arrival the staff in reception were lovely and everyone was most helpful in settling us in. We had asked for a superior room which had dual aspect views across the bay including St Michael's Mount and we were not disappointed. The room had all the usual facilities but the Krups coffee facility, ironing board with iron, iPod player and offer of daily papers were very nice touches. The room was well decorated in a contemporary style and immaculately clean with gowns and plenty of soft towels. We liked all the public areas of the hotel and found 'Jerry' the beautiful cat who lives in the lobby absolutely wonderful. The hotel prides itself on being privately run and it shows as there are many personal touches which make you feel 'at home', key to this is the helpfulness of staff. If staying in the area again we would definitely re-book and the low season offer very good value. The free wifi was welcome and it was nice to see the hotel supporting local artists by offering display space to them. The hotel holds numerous awards and, rightly. displays them proudly.

I stayed at this hoyel recently on a business visit and have to say that I could not have been more impressed. When I arrived at the hotel the parking area was quite tight to say the least and i have to say I was not expecting much. However, the hotel was spotless, the bedroom was spacious with all the facilities you`d expect and more (bath robes etc.,) but best of all the service from the staff was exceptonal from every member of staff I encountered. The food in the restaurant was also really top quality and they even had an "honesty bar" which is something you don`t see often these days. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cornwall and I would certainly stay again next time I visit the area.

Room Tip: I stayed with several colleagues and all said their rooms were excellent.

We arrived on a cold and rainy afternoon and the welcome could not have been warmer.

The staff were outstanding, the afternoon tea amazing, the room modern and excellent and the inclusive breakfast delicious.

My wife and I on a recent trip around the South west of England, intended to visit Penzance as a part of our long-planned tour. Penzance was a highlight and the Hotel Penzance is somewhere where will will certainly visit again on our next trip. I would happily recommend to any fellow Aussies touring this region to stay at Hotel Penzance - you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an ocean view - it is amazing.

This was our second visit to this hotel and again we could not fault the food, service or our room which was cleaned each day. We could not pick any member of the staff for praise as they all went out of there way to make sure we were looked after to a very high standard. One evening our room was a little chilly, the weather was awful, but on request an additional heater was brought to our room without delay.
We would recommend this hotel to any one, one nice touch is the afternoon tea and homemade cakes in the lounge.
We will be back.

Room Tip: Try to get one that looks out over Mounts Bay

My wife and I recently returned to stay at Hotel Penzance for the third time - doesn't that speak volumes?
Although our second visit coincided with some very severe stormy weather, we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.
I remember saying at the time that they could have charged extra for the magnificent view we had of the dramatic tempestuous display of what meteorologists refer to as 'extreme adverse conditions'
We felt so cosy – it was like witnessing expensive special effects in a disaster movie!
The staff here really look after the guests – particularly Peter, who heads the guest relations team. He is so obliging – there's nothing he wouldn't do to ensure that your stay is happy and memorable.
He is totally and perfectly suited to his role as guest relations officer.
I've raved about the Bay Restaurant before – for breakfast and dinner the food and service are toppest of the tops.
The chef's dishes are absolutely delish and on our recent stay we met, for the first time, the new Maitre D', Tony.
Once again, a paradigm of efficiency and charm.
So often Maitres D' are a tad stuffy – not so with Tony.
He was ever helpful with advice regarding the superb menu and wine list and a fine conversationalist with many an amusing anecdote to share with us from his long experience in catering for peoples' taste.
All of which is why we returned recently for another enjoyable treat and will continue do so whenever an opportunity presents.
The rooms, of course, are wonderfully comfortable and beautifully clean.
What more can I say?
It doesn't get better than this - get down to Penzance and see for yourself!

Recently had 2 nights here as part of a "Telegraph" deal, so was very good value. So often these deals can be disappointing as you are given an inferior room, but we had a fabulous room, with views across the harbour in one direction and St Michael's Mount in the other. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant one evening - excellent food with a very helpful and professional restaurant manager. Well located for an easy walk to the town, and not far from the station. Only downside is the parking area as this is quite small and VERY steep.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front will have lovely views, but are still quiet.
