For those who don't know Latin "Optime In Britanniarum Regnum" - "Best In the United Kingdom"

We have been coming to this hotel for over 14 years and it is exceptional. The staff are very very friendly and welcoming and owners Fiona and Judith Pocklington never fail to make you feel welcome. (Beware of the Laugh) Newquay has received very bad press in recent years but please don't let that put you off, the hotel in situated away from the 'rif-raf' however the town centre is not as bad as it makes out to be. Families can be seen in Newquay town centre at night time walking happily along the coastline or throwing their money away in the amusements. It is great for families and the hotel also never fails to make families feel welcome. Food is amazing but watch of for Liz the angry chef :P haha.
Rooms are nice and cosy and there is a great bar area and entertainment room with live acts in the evening. Fantastic outdoor pool and bathing area, as well as a games room and sauna. If your looking for a place to stay in Cornwall, this is the place to be.

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony and sea view are recommended!

Stayed here with my husband and three year old son.My husband was in Newquay on business for couple of days so we travelled with him .We were looking for a central reasonably priced hotel and we definately found it. You are made very welcome as soon as you arrive and the family room was an excellent size and very clean. Altough the hotel is a little dated this does not impact on your stay at all. Breakfast was very nice. Hotel had entertainement one evening whilst we were there which my son loved he is still chatting about the Chicken Man !! .Would def recommend to families

Stayed here with extended family. Room was comfortable and extremely clean, bed very comfortable and quiet at night to sleep. Small bathroom but good shower and everything I needed. Breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly want, really well cooked (try the porridge!). This must be one of the most friendly and helpful hotels I have stayed in, they run a very tight ship, everything done very efficiently but in a pleasant way. They went to a lot of trouble when we were late for breakfast one morning (keen surfer out at 6 am and did not get back). Cannot recommend this hotel more highly. No super luxury here but good service, comfort and cleanliness. What more could you want?
