“Just your average chain pub grub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

This was just a standard run of the mill pub grub stop, not anything that's homemade or is going to change perceptions. Just needed a fuel stop. Lasagne was nice as was the hunters chicken! The beef burrito looked the best of the lot. Price was reasonable considering the offers. Just starting to get noisy and rowdy with the Saturday night revelers as we left.

“Sting in the tail!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We went to the Sailors on numerous occasions during our holiday as they have an amazing balcony on the back of the pub which over looks Newquay beach, however we noticed the number of people eating in there so we decided to try the food. We decided to eat inside as the seagulls like to dive bomb you when you eat outside! Selected our table and I suggest purchasing some drinks while we perused the menu. I bought a large glass of rose and half a pint of stella, this cost £8.10!!!!!! It turned out to be £6 for a large glass of wine - this I believe to be extortionate. This was however the only down side. We ordered to "grill meals", one gammon and one rump steak - this came as part of an offer which included a bottle of wine and all for the great price of £20. Had I realised this I would not have ordered a glass of wine before ordering our food. The food was really well presented and tasted amazing. The service was excellent by the waitress but the bar staff where a little slow. I would definitely eat here again but check out the deals before ordering any drinks.

“Average at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014

It's a typical pub that draws the crowds in that invade Newquay in the summer. Loud music, young crowd and your typical stag/hen do thrown in for good measure. The drinks are expensive compared to other places in town, more like the prices I pay in London.

“Sticky tables and child size portions!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Waited an age for food - thought they'd forgotten us, and the place was quiet, they need to speed things up. Wish I could say the food was worth the wait but it wasn't. The portions are child size and just ok- you may need to visit the chippy next door on your way out??
