When we walked in the 'hotel' we were greeted very warmly by the owner who told us to go and put our belongings in our room (room 5) and then come to pay. We had a quick look in the room and it looked ok, basic, pretty clean but nothing special!

We paid our money and decided to go out for a look around and the owner asked about our family that were staying it was just myself, my partner and our two year old daughter. She then pointed at me and stated 'and you are expecting another baby' to which I replied no and she said 'are you sure'! I found this extremely rude and insensitive, I am a size 10/12 with certain insecurities about my body. My tummy after I had my baby being one of them!!!!

We then walked into town which is mainly uphill so not the best pushing a 2 year old in a buggy for 15 plus minutes. You have to do the walk into town though as there is nothing around the Ravensbury it all just looked derelict and run down.

When arriving back at the room we had a closer look and it was what could only be described as old and shabby. A lick of paint here and there wouldn't go a miss.

The shower was awful, no power in it at all so after being on the beach you could hardly wash the sand off your body as the shower was so bad!

The room had damp so all of our clothes felt damp and smelly, the same for the bedding after bring in in that damp room. Could smell the damp every time we walked in the room even though when it had been cleaned they tried to mask it with air freshener.

Our little girl after one night started coughing and developed a cold and I now feel unwell and have a cold & sore throat which I believe was down to sleeping in the damp room.

It he only positive about the Ravensbury is the breakfast was quite nice and it was quite clean.

Will not be visiting again and I suggest that room 5 is not used until it is sorted out, damp, lick of paint & decent shower put in!!

Stayed for 2 nights for a family party. We were greeted by a friendly face and homely atmosphere. Our room was lovely with sea views and en suite, the bed was amazingly comfortable. Nicola couldn't be more helpful, when we arrived a bottle of water had leaked in our bag and she tumble dried our clothes. The breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice. We would happily stay again.

what a fabulous week we had at this little b&b.
the owner niki is as daft as a brush and made us laugh every day.
she went out of her way to offer us anything we needed.wether it was for our room or breakfast
she was great.
Situated in a very quiet spot but each morning we woke to the best sea view from a hotel ive ever seen...
well worth a stay and very cheap too.

Nicola the owner goes out of her way to make sure the guests enjoy their stay. She even remember guests' like and dislikes for breakfast. The next time I stay in Newquay, The Ravensbury will be my first choice and I'd be disappointed if no vacancies. Five minutes from a magnificent beach, 10-15 minutes walk from town, a decent bar a couple of minutes away and in a quiet area. This is a budget hotel with 5*service!

Stayed for 3 nights with partner and youngest child, had a family room with ensuite shower. Nice and comfortable, clean with tea making facilities. Best part of the room was the incredible view of Fistral Beach from the window. £45 per night, including breakfast was a great deal. The breakfast was very nice too, and our host was a very friendly lady. Definitely would recommend it.

Room tip: Family room at the top has a great view
