“Great service, wonderful location the whole family loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

We stayed for a bank hoilday break with young children we rarely let loose to eat anywhere other than McDonalds. Food was good and service excellent. The staff were really helpful and the views of Fistral beach excellent. The kids already want to go back !

Just returned from a 4 day trip to visit friends in Newquay and stayed at this hotel after getting a booking within my budget. It is a great hotel with lovely staff, room's, service, views and location. My room was better than I imagined it would have been when I placed the booking, this considering that I was a solo traveller on a tight budget and had only paid for what I thought was a value single room. However, the size of the room was very very good to me. It was spotlessly clean and fresh as was the bathroom, and kept to this standard every day of my visit! Great comfy bed! The hotel is also a green hotel, with a fantastic door card idea that controls the electricity usage in your room by inserting the card when you enter the room(turns all the power to the room on /off). The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, I even had a note posted through the door on my first morning to check that I was enjoying my stay and to remind me to ask if there was anything that I needed, which I think is great customer service and just a nice touch. I met a member of the housekeeping team this morning, although briefly, and again this proved to me what a great team The Espalande has, cheerful, happy and accommodating. I didn't stay at he hotel with any restaurant bookings but would in the future. The location is spot on, stunning views over Fistral beach for a start, with grassland and benches across the road from the hotel, that personally If I had the time I could sit and admire the view from all day long! The walk from the hotel into town is short and enjoyable, along either a coast path across Fistral or around the golf course that is opposite. I arrived by car but apart from a short day trip around the coast, I did not have to use it. I paid to have a space in the car park at the hotel and it was there with my name on it and a pillar to keep it there when/if I moved away. Many good things to say about my short trip to The Esplande, I even extended my trip by a day because I felt welcome and comfortable. All in all I would not and won't choose anywhere else to stay in Newquay on future visits.

Went on Tour to Cornwall with the Peterborough male Voice Choir and stayed for five nights at the Esplanade Hotel Newquay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent, especially the breakfast.
I had a single room which was spacious and absolutely spotless, it was at the back of the hotel which was okay as I was only in the room during the night, but the views from the front of the hotel were brilliant, overlooking the sea and beach the surfers use.
Lovely hotel and I will definately go back with my wife for a holiday

Room Tip: If possible try and book a room at the front,

Stayed at this hotel for three weeks in March/April 2011 and I can honestly say that I was made to feel very welcome, the staff all had a can do attitude, the service was good and prompt. The views across Fistral Beach are to die for!!!

The food was of a high standard well presented and very enjoyable!

If I had to find any fault as a business traveller they would be minor in as much as not all rooms have WiFi yet (you can get it in the lounge area) and not being able to get breakfast until 0800hrs was a slight bind.

The swimming pool etc was clean and enjoyable as was the gym in the sister hotel (The Bay) just down the road.

Would I stay here again definitely

Recently got married at the Esplanade and stayed there for 10 days. Fantastic service especially the reception staff. Facilities all good especially the pool. All of the guests at the wedding commented on how good the food and service was. Surf school was also great and offers a very friendly service and is good value for money.
Hotel is in a fantastic location with the beautiful Fistral beach right outside - what more could you ask for.

Room Tip: Town centre is a short and easy walk away.

We booked for 3 nights and stayed for an extra night as the location was GREAT (by the sea), the hotel was CLEAN and staff were GREAT (helpful and friendly). Spacious room with huge bathroom. My older child enjoyed doing hotel activities as well as outdoor activities. The restraunt is located at sea view and was great to sit in and enjoy the sea view in a clean, welcoming environment with delicious food. Good value for money, we will definately stay again.
