“What a disappointment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

We have just returned from a very disappointing meal here. We ate here 5 years ago & were looking forward to a Sunday evening meal here. The cost was extremely high, £65 for a pub meal for 5. We waited for 50 mins for our food to arrive and when it did it was of a very poor standard. It was only because our children were now very hungry & tired that we did not complain. The burgers were bland & over cooked. The chips were incredibly greasy & raw in the middle. I even found a piece if plastic in one of my onion rings.

Overall, the experience was a huge let down, there were clearly people all around us complaining. We will certainly not be returning.

“Truly awful ”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

Just eat here with the family. The food took over 50 minutes to arrive and when it did it was disgusting! The burgers were burnt, the chips were under cooked and some were almost raw. The prices were really high, £15 for a steak and £10 for a burger, at over £65 for a pub meal for the family it would have been cheaper in London! We have been here years ago and it was so much better then, they need to sack the chef and get more serving staff. My wife found a piece of plastic in here onion ring. There were clearly people complaining on many tables around us, one table did not even have half of their food arrive and had to ask for their money back. They have a captive audience with the camp site but I would actively go out of my way to not ever eat there again. The whole family hated it and we all said we wished we had eaten in our caravan! Also they have not decorated in at least 10 years as it looks worse than when we last eat there many years ago! Truly shabby with no chic!

“Food food, great view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

This pub offers great, if perhaps overpriced food, but you are paying for the view.
Staff very helpful, meals good and prepared quickly and look inviting.
Interior very dated and tables, carpets etc , but a good range of drinks and fab carvery if that's your thing.

“Needs some TLC”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Great little pub, beer good, food looked ok, but didn't try. It's in a fantastic location right on Porth beach. it could use a bit of TLC but the staff were friendly and made you welcome.

“Good food but needs a refurb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

We went into this pub simply because it was the closest to the holiday cottage we are staying at, and I have to say at first glance I didn't hold out much hope! It seems stuck in a time warp with it's patterned carpet and red draylon (and very worn) upholstery, and was full of kids and dogs. Not my cup of tea at all, but we found a table and ordered some food. He had ribs and I had sirloin, not cheap at £14.95, but I have to say we both enjoyed our meals and the portions were generous. He also proclaimed the beer excellent! So, despite the decor, high prices and noisy customers, I would probably go again.
