“Beautiful Garden and House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Really lovely house and garden close to Newquay run by The National Trust .Definitely worth spending an afternoon there - it's quite small so you don't need to dedicate a lot of time to looking round but it is worth sitting in the garden and having a cup of tea as it really is a lovely relaxing place.

“Tucked away gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

We went to Trerice late in the afternoon as a 'gap filler' before going back to our lodgings for dinner. What a little gem! Small, perfectly formed and absolutely fascinating. Such knowledgeable staff who were keen to explain the history of the property and also the ongoing repair work to one of the chimneys. PHOTO TIP- walk down the path with the house behind you about half way, turn and step onto the right hand lawn. If you stand over by the flower border you can get a good picture of the facade without the scaffolding intruding. The gardens are glorious. We loved our visit. It is a house less visited and therefore more enjoyable.

“Interesting Elizabethan house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

A very interesting Elizabethan house, with unusual design for its time. When I visited, access to the Great Hall was impossible, due to conservation works to the ceiling, although it was permitted to look through the doorway to see the beautiful plaster ceiling which was being repaired. The volunteers are very helpful, and it is well worth listening to the talk (delivered near to the stone lions in front of the house) about the history of the house and family(s) which lived there. There is a lovely cafe in the barn serving locally sourced foods. This house is well worth a visit.

“Excellent visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Really good day out, nice old house with plenty to see and do and you have the interractive items in the Great hall which are fun. The food is a definate 10/10, we had a good plate full and really fresh and tasty its also close to us so we'll be popping back soon if only for the restaurant.
