“Need to come back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

My business trip to Cornwall included a conference dinner at this venue. It was definitely a highlight. The venue is impressive, the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We were given a brief tour and explanation of the history of the property - but i must go back for a proper look around and to see the gardens in daylight.

“Lovely National Trust property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

Loved this National Trust property. Quite small, but well worth the visit. Lovely gardens and a new one being developed at the moment. Great cafe too in a spectacular barn.

“Small but Friendly NT Property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

Gardens quiet at this time of year and quite small but house lovely - one you could actually live in. History well presented and guides as ever very knowledgeable.

“Small but well worth the visit, especially if you take the 'Welsh Garry' tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

My wife and I recently visited Trerice whilst staying in Cornwall, and even though it's fairly small in National Trust terms, it's very interesting and well worth the visit.
We arrived on a wet rainy afternoon so did not expect to see much of the outside, but believe it or not we opted for the outside tour being conducted by Garry (an ex-school teacher from the Welsh Valleys). Equipped with our umbrellas a small group of us joined Garry and started our walk around the outside of the buildings where he explain things which local documentation had confirmed had happened, and suggested other things which may or may not have happened at the site. Then left it up to us to decide. We can honestly say that he really brought the place to life and made the afternoon so interesting that we did not even notice the rain. I now know and understand more about geology and architecture than before, and its something I have previously not been interested in, but Garry brought them both to life at Trerice.
Trerice is well worth a visit, especially if you manage to get on a 'Garry Tour'.

Stopped off here on one of the worst weather days of our holiday, enjoyed it so much we returned in the sunshine. Lovely gardens and historic house, smashing tea room also, don't miss it
