“Good food but too much for me”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

The food was delicious, service great, the portions are too large to be honest. You could cut the portions down and you would still pay the same amount. The ambiance is great and I love how they transform the restaurant from café in the lunchtime to restaurant on the evening.

“Never lets me now!”

We have dinned at this place a few times in the past, always beautiful food, reasonably priced. Very friendly staff and in a beautiful location!

“One of Newquay's consistent restaurants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

Have been her a few times now over the years and it is always a positive and consistent experience. The food and service are excellent as is the drinks menu, especially good choice of soft drinks.
This visit was for lunch which was a first as I usually go in the evenng.
You need to reserve a table if you want a definite time and being Easter Monday it was bound to be busy and it was.
The only thing I would say is that the tables ar a bit close together but this is a refelction of its popularity, if it was bigger it would still be full.
If you want a cosy meal then this is not the place for you especially at lunch time, it is very child friendly and this makes for a slightly noisy atmosphere but it is good to see children eating proper food and not bundled into KFC or McDonalds. Good to see families having a good social experience.
Will be back for sure. The location is good too and allows a walk around the lake or if a bit more able to the Gannel estuary.

“Lovely place for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

We've had a few weekend lunches here over the past couple of years and always had a great time. Small light lakeside cafe/restaurant has been nicely upgraded and styled to become a lovely setting. Tom and Vicky brought their respective skills, back and front of house, from their time at the Lewinnick Lodge so the fine standard of the food and service goes without saying, but now with bigger portions and better value. Waitresses excellent. Drinks reasonably priced. Difficult to imagine anyone being disappointed.

“A really pleasant experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

My wife and I visited this cafe for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the wide choice for lunch time food. We chose the Crab Fishcakes which were delicious! We also had an excellent cup of coffee and all at a very reasonable price considering the high quality of the food. The staff were also helpful and friendly. This is a restaurant that is not to be missed if you are in the area.
