Description: "Leisurely lunches, cosy coffees and seaside suppers, welcome to Lusty Glaze Beach Bar and Restaurant...Nestled just a short walk from the centre of Newquay on the North Cornish coast. Come rain or shine Lusty Glaze has a relaxed, intimate and friendly atmosphere to enjoy freshly cooked and sourced culinary delights. Head chef Nat creates a beautiful menu for each season utilising the best local produce complimenting the current season, with some rather tasty specials to go alongside. We also specialise in Hot Rock dinning for a truly unique experience! Singing with your supper...Every week we hold a free live music evening featuring some of our favourite local artists spanning a range of different genres, these nights are always special, everyone relaxes and unwinds to the soft sounds of the Atlantic paired with the beautiful tones of our acoustic singer. Even though we now have a 'master chef' leading our kitchen, it is still very likely that your chairs won't match, your spoon and fork may be different patterns and your waiter will be wearing flip flops... We are still the laid back family-friendly restaurant that we always have been!

“Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

We had some friends staying and wanted to take them somewhere with a Cornish view. We couldn't have chosen better despite the cornish mist (rain) but it cleared enough to see a beautiful sunset. The staff were friendly and helpful and efficient. Some went for the hot rock method of cooking which was fun but a little hit and miss. The food was fresh and the atmosphere quite special and not rushed. Thank you to all the staff we will certainly be back with more friends Would not recommend for anyone who has trouble with steps as the walk down and up could be quite an ordeal for the less abled.

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

Great meal and atmosphere. The food was lovely and the staff excellent. The views over the bay were great and this made for a very memorable evening. Would definitely recommend to others, especially when there is live music on.

“Great location and ambiance. Food could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

Had a sunset timed booking for 6, the venue is great and had perfect views of the beach, sea and sunset. The live music was really very good and the overall ambiance was just right for us, 3 couples in our late 20s - early 30s.

The food was disappointing, particularly for the price. Nothing bad but just on the average side, the sort pub type fare you'd expect for lunch. Service was nice and friendly and in keeping the setting.

I'd return and recommend to others but would set expectations on the food. 3/5 seems a bit harsh, would like 3.5 - Just short of a 'very good'

“Ok food, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

Went for family meal and opted for the hot rock where you cook your own meat/fish. I had swordfish while Mrs had the seafood platter while my daughter had chicken goujons from the children's menu. Main course was good but star is the location. Despite the fact its in a glorified marquee you're right on the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset. We weren't rushed but we were warned they wanted our table back by 8 (we started at 6) as there was a live band due on so they were already clearing tables away while we were eating dessert.
Talking of dessert, we were underwhelmed by the £7 brownie with 1 small scoop of ice cream. Don't mind paying a premium when it's worth it but this wasn't

“The most memorable meal of our holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

Quite simply fantastic in every way! Incredibly attentive staff in the most enviable location on the beach at Lusty Glaze. We visited as a family of 3 and were made to feel at ease from the moment we arrived. A very relaxed atmosphere, with live music, perfectly complemented the most sumptuous food. The volcanic stone method of cooking a fillet steak, or surf and turf, mouthful by mouthful adds another dimension which enhances the already fabulous experience.

If you are looking for memories and value for money, book here you will not be disappointed!
