“Best B&B in Newquay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014 via mobile

Stayed in the Hepworth last week and found it to be the best B&B of the many ones that I have experienced around the Cornish Coast. Ron & Carol are superb hosts and for example, upon arrival, Carol insisted on taking my bags to the room and then provided a pot of tea accompanied with a chocolate muffin! Breakfast is a culinary experience with Ron preparing the food to order from an extensive menu, that would put many a 5-star hotel into the shade. Additionally, his advice on local restaurants is high value for a visitor, as for his recommendations, he even knows how they source and prepare their food. On the accommodation, the rooms are very clean, with comfortable beds.
I shall definitely be visiting again.

For walking the South West Coastal Path the Hepworth Hotel is in an excellent position for catching buses in any direction. The accomodation is very comfortable and the breakfasts have to be seen to be believed - freshly prepared, imaginative and of the highest quality. I shall return within weeks.

If you are looking for a high quality B&B in Newquay which is central, quiet and comfortable I couldn't recommend the Hepworth more highly. The warm welcome we received from Ron and Carol made one relax and feel at home immediately. As for the breakfasts these were fantastic. Not only is there a very wide and interesting choice but each order is freshly prepared by Ron who quite rightly takes great pride in this.
Outstanding. We are returnind for a further 3 nights in June. Can't wait for more delicious breakfasts!

Richard

Room Tip: The single room was most comfortable and very quiet being at the back of the Guest House.

Recently stayed at the Hepworth for 3 days during the first week of April for my mini moon with my new husband! First of all, thank you Ron and Carol for making our little honeymoon so special! We had such a lovely stay, star treatment as we were the only guests staying for those days.
Our room (8) was lovely, clean, comfy bed everything you could want. The shower was AMAZING, highly recommend this room and the shower to anyone. We arrived to a bottle of wine, box of chocolates and a wedding card which was so lovely. Our little fridge was stocked every day with snacks and soft drinks too.
Great location too, within a 5 min walking distance of all restaurants and bars. We ate very well thanks to recommendations from Ron on which places to eat!
Breakfasts were cooked to order by chef Ron and I can honestly say that they were the best breakfasts we have ever had whilst staying away. I had the American pancakes and bacon twice it was so nice. The breakfast menu is large and literally caters for everyone. Fresh fruit, home made yoghurt and pastries were also lovely and there at breakfast every morning as well.
All in all, if you do go to Newquay, I highly recommend that you stay at the Hepworth. We felt so welcomed and will hopefully return in the future for another stay. Thank you both!

We have just had an amazing Easter break in Newquay. The best part was choosing to stay at the Hepworth hotel.
On arrival we were greeted by Ron and Carol like old friends and enjoyed tea and homemade cakes with them.
The room we stayed in was excellent with a really large comfy bed and the most amazing shower. There was plenty of tea, coffee and snacks to choose from and cold drinks and chocolate in the fridge, they really have thought of everything to make our stay special.
What made Hepworth the best hotel we have stayed in was the freshly cooked breakfast Ron and Carol cheerfully served us every day. The menu's are of an extremely high standard with everything freshly made and it catered for everyone's needs. Definitely worth getting up for in the morning.
You can guarantee that Ron and Carol will have thought of everything to make your stay special, like the chocolate bunnies on Easter Sunday.

Thanks so much. Will be back soon.

P and R Stacey.

We stayed for 3 nights over Easter and had a great time. Ron and Carol were the perfect hosts and literally nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us a warm welcome and explained everything that we needed to know. They also gave us a map of the town and directions to the zoo, aquarium, beach and local restaurants; all of which are within easy walking distance.

The accommodation is first rate and has parking which is very rare in Newquay. The bedroom was very modern, immaculate and tastefully decorated. There was plenty of storage, a TV, safe, silent fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The bed, towels and bath robes were all excellent quality and the bed was really comfortable. There were also plenty of tea, coffee, soft drinks, chocolates, crisps and anything else you could think of in the room. We were in the top room and still had great WiFi access. The bathroom was also modern, very clean and had an excellent shower. There was also everything you might need from shampoo to needles and cotton.

The lounge was nice and spacious with an excellent cinema system, games console and a guest laptop which came in handy to research where to visit in the local area. The bar had a lovely selection of local real ales, lager and cider along with a good selection of spirits and wine. We spent hours sat in the lounge chatting with Ron, Carol and the other guests whilst trying out the real ales and had a lovely time.

Every day started with breakfast in the conservatory. There were lots to choose from on the menu and there was always plenty of cereal, fruit, yogurt and fruit juice. Carol made sure you always had plenty of fresh tea, coffee and toast. Ron prides himself on his breakfast which was excellent and set you up for the day. Ron also baked muffins and cookies in the morning for everyone to take with them which was lovely.

The entire guest house was immaculately clean which I really appreciated as I suffer quite badly from allergies. I had no issues at all with my allergies which was a real blessing.

If you like a personal service and want somewhere to unwind then Hepworth Guest House is the perfect place. We both have quite stressful jobs and we felt completely relaxed during our stay. Ron and Carol are so friendly that it feels like we’ve known them for years already. We can’t rate this place highly enough and are already looking when to go back.

Ron & Carol were excellent hosts , Ron explained everything clearly when we checked in. The B&B is very closely located to the city , high street and the beach. Parking available at the B&B itself which is amazing. Breakfast was good, Ron did a great job preparing it all by himself for so many people.

Just a few points that most days breakfast took an hr or even 1.5 hrs to arrive as rules state to be at your table between 8 and 8:40 and we did not get a chance to get out to our trips before 10:00 am. A few missed items from what we had ordered or had actually not needed on our plates to still arrive. We weren't asked for a repeat coffee at our tables though it was available at the self service. Carol was really sweet to do all the orders by herself but seemed too much for her at times.

Rooms are quite out dates though it did have all the facilities like coffee , tea, fridge, mirrors, cupboards and a tv. The shower and bath gel were pretty much unusable and seemed of a very low quality hence we did use our own. The shower tray hardly fit a person in and had to squeeze in to take a shower.

Rooms can definitely be upgraded to be a bit modern as does seem outdated.

Great trip though and great hosts and for their hospitality.
