“Looks good .... Food disappointing.... Must be better in Looe!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Like the previous reviewers we were taken in by the appearance of the outside of the restaurant, And there were several diners eating when we arrived
Service was reasonable and waitresses accommodating for changes to kids menu.

The meat pizza was unusual to say the least....could not discern what type of meat it was and it was smothered in rubbery cheddar and chilli flakes that masked any semblance of taste.

My sons burger was overlooked and dry, literally a remnant of meat in a dry bun

Fortunately there was little they could do wrong with the chips.....

Very overpriced for what it is ..... Avoid

“What a disappointment!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Much like the previous review, this restaurant was a massive disappointment. Very pricey for the quality of food. Fish and seafood that was clearly not fresh despite being in sight of the quay. The worst part was the waitress who bordered on rudeness. Perhaps a more generous visitor would simply say disinterested. My advice is to steer well clear of this place.

“Dont go!!!Restaurant?????? Road side cafe more like!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

Should never be allowed to call itself a Restaurant......Cafe at a push! We had Spagetti Bol-pasta overlooked or just warmed up. Pizza Hawaian-I would say frozen pizza with extras thrown on. Sirloin steak with pepper sauce-steak tasteless, sauce defo from a packet. Scampi and chips-quite obviously out of the freezer and in true 'cafe' style Tartare sauce in a sachet! I kinds of knew the standard of the establishment when I saw the dog eared place mats and in hindsight should have left then instead of paying £75 which would have been better spent at the fish and chip shop. Staff although pleasant were more interested in their own chatting than serving what few customers they had! Defo NOT worth a visit!

“:( not good at all”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Due to the lack of 3G in Looe we were unable to check TripAdvisor before deciding where to have lunch. And anyway, my son Archie wanted to eat in somewhere named after him, or so he thought!

Despite it being 3 degrees with a freezing wind outside, there appeared to be no heating on in the restaurant (we were the only diners). Surely if you see your guests have not removed their coats and scarves, you'd do something about it? Walking past the following day we noticed that other diners were also still in coats!

The waitress was disinterested and couldn't muster a smile despite us being the only people in the restaurant. In fact, the most she said was to tell us that the ladies toilets were out of action.

The food was average, but not representative of the outside.

Under current management I'd be surprised if this place lasted another winter - I can't imagine their repeat visitor numbers are anything but negligible.

Will not be returning.

“Just Ok, wouldn't return”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

I agree with other reviews that the exterior gives a false impression but does the trick of getting you through the door! We were a party of 7, the place was empty but we had to have separate tables. I had the cottage pie and asked for a smaller portion for my toddler but was told this could not be done, so I was expecting an individal homemade portion, but when it came it was just a portion from a big one so why couldn't she have had some of her own? It had to be sent back as it was cold and the veg was cooked to within an inch of its life. My husband had the roast beef dinner and was very disappointed. Others had Steak and Chips and Scampi and chips which they enjoyed. Very average and would not go back, it was the worst meal of the week in Looe.
